dialogue about a sweater
tonight, i'm wearing niether red nor kakhi. i'm wearing gray and purple. in fact, i'm wearing my "crazy purple sweater." it's so called for a reason. permit me to share that reason with you:)
i bought this sweater... i dunno, maybe three years ago. it's just a normal, v-neck, plain, undecorated violet colored sweater from old navy. anyway, i was home on vacation from school when i bought it, and went into the living room to tell my dad of my purchases from the day.
me: and i got a sweater.
dad: a sweater, huh? well, that'll be nice this winter. what color is it?
me: purple
dad: *snort* purple?? i dunno helen. that's pretty crazy.
to this day, i don't know why the fact that my sweater was purple made it "crazy," but i shared the story with my friends at school, and since then, i've always thought of this as my crazy purple sweater.
anyway... have any of you ever heard the song "the headphonist" by... well, i don't remember the primary artist, but featuring john mccray of cake? i heard it on npr the other night and just loved it. well, i love john mccray in general, but this was such a great song for a mix cd:) i'm gonna have to buy that cd "i head it on npr," cause i find myself saying that more and more lately.
