ok, here's the type of thing my mom always says that kinda bugs me.
over dinner, she and dad were talking about some student who graduated from the same college as me (just about six years earlier than i got there) getting murdered a day or two ago. tragedy, they said, but they didn't mention any details like how he was murdered or his job even. instead, "they talked to his best friend in the article," my mom says. "he was a doctor." *pause, then slightly annoyed* "but they didn't even say what he was a doctor of. was he a medical doctor?"
she also stuck her head in my room last night, after she and dad got home around one am, just to ask if i'd remembered to bring the paper in. yes mom. it's in the middle of the otherwise empty table right by the door where you came in.
