quick update from london
k. i have 15 minutes to update before my time runs out. i'm writing from my hostel in london. they only sell time cards by the 15-minute here. so.... yeah. as i mentioned, i'm in london. i left china a couple days ago. it was sad to leave. daniel, jason, yuanyuan, and daniel's dad saw me off at the airport, and i had to run away after a very short goodbye so i wouldn't cry. my last little time traveling around china was good too. well, can i say that? yeah. troublesome, but good. i know just enough chinese to get me into trouble:) i learned that.
highlights of london so far: drinking my first cold skim milk in almost a year yesterday. seeing death of a salesman with brian dennehey (sp?) yesterday. being in london in general.
we've been avoiding the underground. the parts of it close to my hostel are all out of commission anyway.
what more do i have to say about china? i reached the possible all-time peak of my chinese over the trip. in xi'an, i stayed with a friend of jason's who had minimal english skills, so i got to learn some more chinese. i saw the terra cotta warriors, but that wasn't my highlight of there. staying with this girl was. she hooked me up to stay at her buddhist master/friend's temple the first night. like, a small functional temple. very cool. highlights of traveling with paul were mostly involving meeting random interesting people. me trying to book train tickets was really unfun. hanging out with daniel the last couple days was really good and fun. in zhangjiakou, we saw the grasslands as the special guests of the governor of hebei province. he drank us all under the table. holy cow.
