last day of relative freedom

i really like chinese pop music. i'll quote for you from the cd booklet: "Huu Come On Baby baby Mmm Let's Carzy carzy Enn Do you Happy happy Na." another highlight of that song is "do you ready now." brilliant. no, but seriously. i like this band:) they're fun. the longer i'm here, the more i like chinese music.

my schedule next semester is so irregular. my first and only class tomorrow is at 4:10. holy moly. the next two days are 8 hour days, starting at 8 am. this semester, i think i'm going to try to have something like a swear jar, but for speaking chinese in class. everytime i hear a student speak chinese in class, he or she has to put maybe 5 jiao in the jar. then at the end of the semester, we'll use the money for a party. i wonder if i'm enough of an enforcer to be able to do that. i think it'd be really good for my students if i did. will they listen to me if i tell them they need to put money in? what do i do if they say no?

i think some people are emailers and some people are cell phoners. i've known for a while that i'm an emailer. daniel's a cell phoner. despite my emailer status, i'm really not wanting to catch up on emails right now.

about half an hour ago, bill tried calling my new cell phone to make sure he had my number right. instead of playing the generic ring tone i picked out, the phone starting saying numbers in chinese, presumably bill's number. having a chinese phone is cool:) cooler if i thought it'd work once i get back home. how cool would it be at home to have my ring tone in chinese? that being said, i generally don't like my generic phone rings. if they were cheap, i'd consider uploading from online.

2:13. should i clean my filthy floor? come up with a grading system/rough semester syllabus? read more of the story of the stone, the surprising great chinese classic novel i'm reading? paper journal? send emails that really really need sending? or play yahoo games. right.

in class, technology, music
