Ducklings have arrived!!! 12 to be exact, all equally cute and lovely and fluffy. I saw them on the front lawn today with Mama Duck and stayed and watched them for 10 minutes. It was funny watching them go off the lawn and then try to hop back on, which takes a good two inch jump. Right now they're so small that they have to launch/hurtle themselves at the edge. Sometimes they make it...sometimes they don't :P They shift around between the front lawn, a smaller pond shaded by a huge willow tree, the main pond and large expanse of grass, and anywhere else they damn well please I'm sure. Have yet to see them swimming in a line in the big pond, will be on the lookout with camera ready.
My friend was giving a tour of Emma when I was there, and as he was walking past I made out part of his speil: "This is the front lawn. Only fellows, professors, and ducks are allowed on it."
The other ducks have been very nice lately as well. I've studied out on the grass near the pond and they just waddle next to you and fall asleep. Heeeee! :)
In other news, I love my director of studies. I had a termly meeting with him today and wanted to discuss one of my professors and the low marks he (unfairly, in my opinion) gave me. My director just told me to ignore the mean professor because he's a grumpy old man and going senile. Made my day :)
