So everyone is posting pictures on their journals, so here are a couple of pics of stuff that goes on in my life. First off we have a picture of the show I did last Friday, here we are all at the end of the show.
I'm the one in the red shirt
Next we have the beach! Last Sunday Linhda planned an awesome beach outing, and I decided that what better time to make my debut at a North Carolina beach. So we headed to Kure Beach, where we met up with Linhda's friend, Ashley. Lucky Ashley lives, literaly, 50 yards from the beach.
Linhda wearing one of Kim's friend's hat and sunglasses because they were wicked* cool. This infamous hat kept getting blown off her head and Linhda would have to run after it before it got to the water.
Me wearing said hat.
Ashley was trying (trying being the key word here) to teach Linhda to surf. So after a quick lesson in the sand, they got in the water and I don't think Linhda was very successful at it...
"You're from where? Russia? Do they even have sun in Russia?" ~Linhda to Artur. Kind soul that he is, Artur drove both ways so Linhda and I just chilled.
So we were wondering how far ahead Kim and her friends were, when all of the sudden we see this car on the side of the road, pulled over by a cop. Linhda goes "OMG is Kim!" They got pulled over for going 90, but c'mon, she's 22 and had never gotten a ticket before. That's pretty good if you ask me.
I cannot remember their names, but here they are basking in the sun.
Wow, who are those? Cuz they are sexy biatches!!!
This trip to the beach made me realize that I have to get a new bathing suit because, ahem, it doesn't really fit anymore...and in the name of wardrobe malfunctions, I do not want to spill out of mine when a wave hits or something.
Two lovely shots of Me, Artur and Ashley. They are really cool people and I had loads of fun.
*This word was brought to you by Heatha and them folks from the North.
I'm trying to save up for a digital lens for my camera, so I can take pictures over the summer. I really wish the J-school would let us keep lenses over the summer, because I can't do anything with just a camera body :( Hopefully I can get a 50mm, at least, or something cheap. Speaking of which, I stopped by my "new" job in Southpoint where I talked to the manager. He seems like a pretty nice guy, and willing to work with my schedule in terms of classes and whatnot. The one bad thing about this store is that I'll probably have to do more than just load, print and sort photos. I'll probably also have to check in film and deal with angry customers...
Angry Lady #1: "Why did my pictures come out looking like this?"
Me: "Well, ma'am, usually you need some sort of flash in order to take a picture in a pitch dark room"
Angry Lady #2: "But I was using "special" film!"
Me: "Well then you obviously suck at photography. And I can't do shit about that"
The manager told me that they don't get as much business as the store in Raleigh, which I already knew. My current store has the 'main' lab, but I didn't think there was that much of a difference. He told me that usually the get about 40 rolls a day...40? We did 175 on Monday. I start this Monday, and I'm not expecting it to be too too busy as I'm assuming most people will be at the beach for Memorial Day.
I had my first Media Law test today. I don't think I did too hot. Her multiple choice questions were really tricky, and it basically took me the whole hour and half to finish. I'm done and I think a nap is in order!
