FOURTH DAY IN LONDON!
Today…well I set my alarm again for 8:30...woke up at nine and had to meet the group at 9:30! So I quickly got ready and met them…we took the tube down to Bankside, which is where Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is!!! We did our lecture/readings in front of it on the steps…that was cool except there was a lot of people going past so I kinda was a little distracted! Lol In the middle we had a small potty break, so I went with them…I didn’t have to go…I just wanted to wander and take pictures! Lol so we came back and finished our lesson. So I learned today that the Globe that’s here isn’t even on the actual site!! Yeah that was kinda sad, but I understand why, and tomorrow we get to see the actual site! I also learned that the Rose theatre was excavated underneath an ACTUAL building! I saw the entrance, but we might see that later on in our trip if my teacher plays her cards right she said. Lol so after our class me and a few classmates decided we wanted to reserve tickets for tomorrow nights showing of Lord of the Rings…so our teacher showed us over there, and on the way her fav. Little hole in the wall restraunt. We also saw the place that the first scene in My Fair Lady was produced (the one by the pillars “wouldn’t it be lovely” I believe!) so I took a pic! OF COURSE! Lol
So we went to the Theatre to reserve tix and found out that we could only get a student discount an hr before on that day and itd only be 25, and those tix are like FRONT ROWish!!! So we decided to wait till tomorrow to try, and if not well go see one of the others in the area! :-D So we decided to go back to the restaurant that our teacher showed us to get food, and she ended up being there, so I sat, ate, and chatted with her! That was very nice! I got a classic club sandwich with chips and this saladly thing ahha it was VERY good, but they tend to LOAD things with mayo…I’m not exaggerating when I say LOAD either!!! But yeah it was good.
After that we looked around the area, got some great pictures of St. Paul’s Cathedral which is just a bit across the river from the globe! We went in a few shops, and I found a shoe store! I really wanted to get some cute/sporty European looking sneakers, so I looked. They had these AMAZING looking shoes that were White with red and only 30LBS so I asked for my size, and they said in American sizes they only go up to a 10, so I said I’d try it and did…and it fit like a GLOVE!! Soooo…I bought them! Lol I LOVE THEM! The kinda sorta look like pumas…ish lol All I need/want now is a Manchester United (Ronaldo) Jersry and ill be GOOD TO GO! lol so after that Matt wanted to get his hair cut, so we went with him to a Tony & Guy! It took FOREVER! And I was kinda falling asleep! Haha but then after that I did an amazing job at finding our way back to the dorms, walking tube and all! YEAH! Lol so we got back, changed real fast then headed back to the tube to go to the show at the GLOBE! So we just jumped on our usual train w/o looking at the sign! Haha yep deff got the wrong one, but helene found her way to the stop with the one we needed, but we had to walk FOREVER underground to get to it, up an down escalators 3 to 4 times the size of an average one! THEY’RE HUGE!!! But yeah finally found it got to our stop got off and who did we see, our teacher getting off too! Lol so we followed her and that’s when she showed us the door to the Rose…then we went to the Globe. We got to see Love’s Labor’s Lost! At first I was in COMPLETE AWE of the theatre itself! It was amazing!!! <3 I took SOOOO many pictures! Haha yep our tix were in the yard, and for those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s the standing section of the globe in front of the stage area! I was RIGHT on the stage kinda to the right. I was a thrust stage but with a cool gutting out thing! Like if you think of a regular stage and add 2 walk ways that kinda make a hollow triangular center for people to stand that’s what it looked like…its hard to explain…but yeah I was SOOOO close that I touched/got breezed by AT LEAST 10 times by the girls skirts on their dresses! THAT’S HOW CLOSE I WAS! And at one point on of the actors jumped into the yard to run away, and was squirming his way through the crowed, so I got up by the wall to be out of his way and he purposely squeezes between me and the wall! Lol he definitely was just kinda hand swimming/pushing people out of the way and when he tried to swim between me and the stage his hand definitely caught my boob! LMAO! Haha but he didn’t mean it! O and one of our teachers got hit in the face by one of the actors sword case thing they wear on their hips! LMAO! It was scary but FUNNY AS HELL! But he was perfectly fine, just a small lump! HAHA I was also so close that during late intermission before it started up again some of the girls came on stage and were eating and offered the audience close by cheese! So we got a cheddar from the one girl, and cause we are cool the other girl came over and gave us more! So that one was like fetta cheese or something! J mmm…so the show….IT WAS AMAZING AND HYSTERICAL!!! (I loved the part when they were WHIPPING bread at each other!! HAHA) I understood the language pretty darn well, and they twist this group did with it was add a TON sexual humor and innuendos!!! It was FABULOUS! Like the one part the guy has a horse costume over his lower half and makes the horse buck back…definitely was one of the very few that got a COMPLETE (quick) frontal view! SCARRED FOR LIFE!!! Yuck! And then it dropped and his shirt covered the front but he turned around and picked upt the horse, COMPLETELY mooning the ENTIRE AUDIENCE! Yuck! LMAO! Yeah there was SOOO many bad things! Like the one part they were being characters to entertain the royals and the one guy was supposted to be Hercules…well he grabs the snakes between his legs and starts to “Choke” them…but its so innuendoed that its INCREDIABLY dirty, if you know what I mean! Stuff like that was everywhere! Like the one girl was sucking on her middle finger VERY provocatively! There was pelvic thrusting EVERYWHERE…it goes ON and ON!!! It was FANTASTIC, definitely was in STITCHES by the end! And to top it all off, twice during the show a few actresses sang to the instrumentalists they had! (they had 5, that played before, during changes, and intermission…and all to date instruments, we where so close that 2 of them came and talked to us before the show!! AMAZING) and the singing was SOOO good, and at the end the entire company sang a song, and all but 2 were absolutely AMAZING, the 2 were just ok, but still on pitch and everything!! (in script lyrics too!) and did a company dance during curtain call too!!! It was just ALL AROUND AMAZING!!! I LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT!!!
…Dream Come True…LITERALLY! <3
So afterwards we headed back I made a sandwich and had a small glass of wine (which I’ve decided I don’t care much for…) and here I am, I also have to finnish my little packet on the show for my class for tomorrow!
So the boys are out on duty for the week I believe, so I’ve found my own word of the day…ish…
WORD OF THE DAYish: So we would normally say “My nose,” they’d say “Me nose!”
LOVE IT!
O and I heard a guy call his other guy friend “pet” today on the street! LOL! Hehe
Well tomorrow were meeting at 9:30, and then getting a tour/workshop at the GLOBE! EEK! YEAH!!! Then we’ll have a lunch break and then our teacher’s giving us a walking tour sort of thing of Bankside and the old theatres in that area…ect! YEAH!! Then hopefully we can get some good tix to see Lord of the Rings! :-D
And I saw a funny sign today that said “cyclists dismount” ahha idk I found it amusing!
that’s all for today…
O we also decided when no-ones around we're going to sing the song from RENT "Sante Fe" on the subway train! LOL YEAH
People have said I’m starting to sound like I’m from Brittan when I talk now! YEAH!
Well I miss and LOVE YoU…can’t wait till the next exciting event in LONDON!
