Day 2 IN LODON!!
So another AMAZING day! I mean how can it not? I am in LONDON!!
So today I set my alarm for 9:30 to go to a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral…definitely slept RIGHT through it! I was SOOO tired from not sleeping the past night, and then last night…
So I woke up this morning to liz knocking on my door, she wanted to know if I’d go with her to the vodaphone store to get more minutes on her phone, so I said sure! I needed to get up anyways!
So we got changed and took the tube to a place called Canning Town I believe. On the way I stopped at a store and got a bag of nacho cheeze Doritos (London style), and a pop that was pineapple and grapfruit flavored (not the best but still a new try!) for only 80pence! So anyways, the store that was just down the street was closed on Sundays! Argh lol so we went to this area and let me just tell u…CRAZIEST place to figure out EVER! Its like this mall area with at least 7 different HUGE mall sections they all had like 3 floors and were about half the size of our mall back home EACH! So we searched FOREVER for this store cause all the malls looked alike in NORMAL looking big buildings! I stopped and bought a postcard for 85pence So we searched and searched and FINALLY found it…it ended up being 5 feet from the first place we were!!! Argh ahaha
So after that we came back to the flat and Dan and Luke were bored and asked us if we all wanted to go get coffee or something…so we all took showers and met them at the coffee shop just down the street from us. It was Dan, Luke, Liz, Lynsey, and I and a little bit after Shay showed up too! So we all chatted and goofed around and looked at the HYSTERICAL pictures from the night before! “DROP IT LIKE ITS HOTT!“ lol <- inside joke LOL They taught us a phrase and we did too! Theirs was “Shit the bed!” haha its like saying no way or your kidding! Hahaha so we taught them what a badonkadonk was! Ahaha the funniest thing had to be them saying it in a British Accent!! LMAO!!! So after a while of that we headed back to our flat and showed them where it was and what not (were makin them dinner 2marrow night…ill tell more bout that later). So they came in and we all joked around in our kitchen area! Luke and I were all ghetto walkin across the room (he even rolled his pant leg up! HAHA!) and then me n liz showed dan how to do the model walk, and he did it too! HAHA even the hip turn and everything! It was SO convincing! LMAO!!
So after joking around and learning Luke has a VILLA in Spain, we all left cause we girls had dinner at the Texas Embassy. So we found the group and took the tube to Trafalgar Square where we saw AMAZING fountains, monuments, and buildings like The National Gallery! We had dinner, it was 2 chicken tacos (which were delish!) with beans and rice (I didnt like the rice too much) and when we finished we all headed to the London Eye. On our walk there we went over this HUGE walking bridge that had AMAZING views of the Eye, The parliament building/big ben and the river!!! After the bridge we had a small walk to the eye but in this area were crazy people! Lol There were magicians, Musicians, and people acting like statues! We got a kick out of it! Lol Patrick even got chosen to help as a model in a magic trick were the guy made a cigarette disappear in his shirt! I got some great pics with the guy stickin his hand up patricks shirt! LMAO!! Ahaha
O and I also got a picture with this Gold queen statue lady! Lol
After that amuzement we went on the eye, which was SOOO cool! It took about 25 minutes to make a complete round in circular glass viewing rooms like a ferris wheel! I got some amazing panoramic views/pictures of London from up there! (it went REALLY high too! Then after that most of the group went back to the flats to call it a night, but Shay, Christina, Audrey, and myself decided to sight see a little more, they wanted to find a souvenir shop but failed cause most were closed on a Sunday night so we decided to walk a bit and see Buckingham Palace! Which was GEORGOUS!!! After seeing that we decided to head back because by that time our feet were KILLING US! So we took the tube and I was VERY confident and found our way back! YEAH! Lol
So that was my day! Amazing once again!!!
Tomorrow I have class at 11 and 2 and then at 5 me and my flat mates (which are Liz, Lynsey, Shay, and Neesha all from parts of Texas) are going to get groceries and cook a southern american homestyle meal for our 3 London boys Dan Dave and Luke to thank them for being SOOOO nice to us! (for example Dave, liz’s man HAHA, paid for Me and her to get into a club for 10LBS, 2 drinks each, and paid for our Taxi home, which was VERY expensive!) that among other things, and being the nicest, fun, funniest, most polite gentleman we’ve ever met! They are Great guys! So Yeah! :-D
O and me and Christina might try to take a trip to Paris and Rome this weekend! EEK!!
WORD OF THE DAY: “Daft” -or Idiot!
I also learned that they have WAY different road signs than we do…like
*Their yeild sign is upside-down and reads “Give Way” LMAO!!!
*Their Exit signs read “This Way Out”
* and In restrooms instead of the door reading occupied theirs reads “Engaged” LOLOL!!
My Verdict- I LOVE THIS PLACE! The people are very nice and friendly, Its pretty easy to travel once u understand the tube, and the scenery is absolutely BREATH-TAKING!!! (I have fallen in love with the Parliament Building/Big Ben!!) O and I have the BEST FLATMATES EVER!!! I felt like the first time I met them that I’d known them ALL my life!
Miss you all back home! Hope all is well!
Miss and LOVE YoU! <3
ANOTHER AMAZING LONDON DAY!
