Humankind should be confined to Earth.
We find the Stargate, travel to new worlds and what do we do? Make an enemy of the Goa'uld. Battling them for years on end, having several close calls to having the entire planet destroyed obviously taught us nothing cos we go to Atlantis and what do we do?
We awaken the Wraith.
Now the Goa'uld are bad enough, what with their penchant for high drama. But the Wraith? The Wraith can suck the life out of you with their hands. What the hell is that?
And then there's the Genii.
New civilisations? You can keep em.
