Yay!
Well, that was satisfying...
The show was great--Springsteen in top form, the band has obviously grown used to playing together, they were a lot more daring and innovative than a few months ago, the set-list was just about perfect, and the sound was more than acceptable.
As usual in Belgium, the audience was a little slow to react (read, the people who were sitting remained seated until Bruce asked them to please get off their asses (no, he didn't phrase it like that, but that's what he meant anyway), and about half the pit didn't react at all). Sadly, an unresponsive audience usually means one or two songs less during the encore.
Still, my brother and I chose a side of the pit where people were enjoying themselves--respectful, happy to be there, and considerate of others. A guy was there with his little daughter, and spent a good part of the show carrying her on his shoulders so she could see the stage, and he kept making sure he didn't disturb anyone around him. This is probably the first Springsteen concert in Belgium where I don't fell like murdering people around me.
I've been reading the French forum, and the people who were on the sitting rows all have horror stories--a guy actually saw someone sleeping, and another one got insulted by a woman because he was tapping his feet on the ground and it was hurting her back. (WTF?)
