I called my dad tonight & asked him if he was going to wear a tux or not. He's not.
Believe it or not, I'm really ok with it. It's his choice. I told him that I would not lie for him & I would not make excuses for him. If anyone askes why he is not participating, I will say "it was his choice" and I will not explain any further.
I also reminded him that this was a once in a lifetime event & that he will probably look back & regret no participating. He agreed that was a possibility but I think his compromise to not participating is to simply attend & witness. His loss.
I will not let him ruin our day!
