Dear Family, Friends, and Others,
I recently heard about the fire at College Park. I also heard that these students have been housed at Darrow and in Shafer. I have also heard that some of these students have not had three meals a day since the fire, and one girl is said to not have shoes! James Properties (owners of College Park and Darrow) as well as Edinboro University have only helped minimally. Several other concerned students will be holding a donation drive Wednesday November 29 from 8pm until people stop donating.
This drive was organized at the last minute and almost no one knows about it, so I was hoping that perhaps we could create a chain by telling everyone we know about it. Items needed the most are cash, unopened food, clothing, and school supplies. Even telling others or being there to help or support would be wonderful. If you do not feel comfortable giving your donation to an unofficial group, donations should be being taken by Student Services on campus.
Even if you cannot help on Wednesday, please pass along the message and help later if you can. Please also ask your employers for help if possible. I am hoping that all of us can donate a little to help these students out a lot in their time of need.
