Ian had been fighting the way he felt, part of him told him it was wrong. That she was one of them. That all they did was take over the humans without a care. stole who they were. That they had taken away everything he had ever loved and left him hiding in the desert like some animal. Then part of him argued she was nothing like the others, that even she was running from them. He tried to shake the growing feelings. He knew and believed Melanie Stryder was still in there as well, and aware. She was Jared's girl, but it wasn't Mel he was falling for, no it was Wanda. His Wanderer.
He began letting himself get closer to her, he just couldn't help it. Each moment they spent alone he never wanted to end. He wanted to hold her close to him, he wanted to kiss her. He tried a few times but the wince he'd see on her face from the yelling of Melanie in her head made him cringe and let go. It was beginning to kill him being barely able to touch her. It wasn't the body he really wanted, he just wanted Wanda. Then he talk of leaving him.
He never thought he'd ever feel that bad in his life. It was like something stabbed into his chest and it made it hard to breath. His Wanda wanted to leave him, and where he should have been happy for Jared. Should have been happy she was willing to give a human back all he felt was sadness. The others could see it, could see the younger O'Shea breaking. They knew they couldn't let Wanda go either, there was too much at stake.
Their hearts and the hole that would be left with her gone.
