Hey everyone. this is why I've been so quiet on here - nope, not because i'm blocked from this site at work, but mostly because we've barely been home. You see...our sewer line could possibly be broken. Yep. We came home a few weeks ago (about 3 weeks now) and noticed that our back drain (on the way to the basement from the back yard) was filled with water. we naturally thought it was stopped up with leaves, but when we raked the leaves away and nothing moved nothing drained...well we knew we had a problem. Of course this is the night when everything is supposed to freeze and we have about 6 inches of standing water outside the house. Yep...just our luck. We'd just come back from somewhere...right now I cant remember where, but our house doesn't like it when we leave!
Anyhow - so we had rotor rooter come out and snake the line...he came up with dirt. Bad news...he told us that if he came up with dirt - that means that the line (sewer pipe) is broken somewhere in there. What does that mean? It means that the water from all of our sinks and toilets drain into that pipe. When that pipe breaks or has a clog, the water gets backed up. That water...was what was in the stairwell of the basement (outside) so we spent the next few hours disposing and shop vacuuming that water out (which smelled like laundry water) thank goodness B. did a lot of laundry!! ...what does all of this mean?
It means we have the wonderful opportunity to have a sleepover with our friends Kim and Kim. Yep, they moved into their house on Dec. 14th and we moved in with them on the 17th! Yep..they hadn't been in their house for more than a few days and they have house guests! so we packed up our stuff, gave the cats some extra food and went to stay with them. They were sooo sweet and set up a bedroom for us. We tried to help them set up the house...but we were so sleep deprived we weren't much help. Each night we spent away from home we both woke up repeatedly during the night with nightmares or some sort of insomnia. We left for NY for Christmas there (early xmas) then came home and have been staying at home ever since. We can't flush toilet paper. Only what comes out of the body is allowed in the toilet until we get it fixed. Which will hopefully happen next week.
Other than that...on a more serious note. My mom had some tests done in early december and her mamogram came back abnormal. So I left work and ran to Maryland to be with her. She has to have a biopsy to see if it's benign. I'm sending all kinds of reiki and positive thoughts to her and doing alot of praying and hoping that it comes back benign. I was a complete MESS!! I've said it once and I'll say it again. I don't know how I will handle it if anything happens to my mom. I think I'll go a little crazy.
During the holidays I'm thinking a lot of you D. I wish with all of my heart that I could take your pain away! I don't know how you are handling all of this! I admire your strength and that you are talking about your dad and blogging about him! I looked at his picture today and said a prayer for him.
Hug the ones you love!

ps. I'd like to thank Kim and Kim for letting us stay with them for a week, and for getting a tree to help us get into the christmas spirit, and introducing me to lactaid eggnog! YUM! And thank you Kim and the Reiki team members and distance healers for all of your healing reiki vibes! We needed them! We still do. Test #2 for mom in January!
