I am now no longer a resident of Washington for the next nine months. Yesterday I brought Webster to my cousin who lives in Edison and today my mother and I began our three day journey to Southern California. Leaving was one of the saddest moments of my life. I'm not sad to be going to college but rather sad to have to leave behind 18 years of consistency and comfort. I definitely don't like change and this is about as drastic a lifestyle change as you can get. Nevertheless, I am so excited about new beginnings and new friends (not that my current ones aren't any good (cause you guys all rock)).
On a random side note I think there is something to be said about the fact that the back of the MDX was jammed full of my two suitcases, random boxes, a garbage back full of shoes and hangers as well as a cardboard stand-up of Legolas. It was, and still is, quite odd looking. I wish I would have taken a picture before we left.
So shortly after that we drove off. Driving down Meridian I almost cried again. I mean, if I had been alone I totally would have turned on some sappy music and cried my eyes out but my mom was with me so I didn't. Looking back that was probably a good thing because I am not going to let myself be sad anymore. I will see my friends at Christmas for sure and I have to live in the moment and make the most of my college experience even thought part of me wants to still be involved in their lives so badly.
And now, after about four hours on the road we are in Albany, Oregon. Tomorrow we drive to Sacramento which will be a considerably longer drive (about ten hours). I'm trying not to think about it right now. It's a slightly overwhelming thought to sit in a car for that long. But I downloaded the Tim Gunn podcast from Project Runway seasons one and two and that is currently keeping me wildly entertained. I am really enjoying hearing his point of view on everything. He really knows his stuff and he always adds in some fun commentarty on the happenings of the workroom.
Anways, I love you all and hopefully I'll have some more exciting things to share tomorrow :)
