I love to read >.<. My favorite Book is 'The Wrong Side of the River'
The story starts in the small town of my very own city, Bridge City Texas! Yes, thats correct. It's completely astounding how I can stand on the very ground where all the horrible things that happened to this guy took place xD.
Cliff Johnson in retelling the story of his tumultuous childhood in Wrong Side of the River. Johnson's story is a compelling true story of the early neglect and abuse he endured and overcame when the odds, and it seemed even the world, were against him. Handed off from relative to relative, his story tells of the good days and the bad days, and regardless of which category the day fell, he made sure it was adventurous to say the least. And although his adventurous spirit yearned to see the world, being continually uprooted, and moved from state to state, was unappealing. No matter what new town he found himself in, or with which relative, trouble was always looming right around the corner and through no fault of his own, he'd find himself, once more, guardian-less and awaiting the incompetence of the next relative.
With a unique writing style that is straightforward (you won't find any nonsensical fluff here), he articulates how he used humor to make sense of the crazy world around him; how he honed his intuition in order to predict the behavior of several crazed relatives; how he used his imagination to find the simplest pleasure in an otherwise chaotic world; and how his dogged determination set him on a path to break the cycle of abuse. He is a true survivor and through his story, we see that no matter how bleak our beginnings, anything is possible if we want it bad enough.
Move over Tom Sawyer
You've got nothing on Cliff Johnson!
