iii. an angry choreographer and broken backs and bones

“I think we’re lost Okaasan,” Tamaki nervously whispered to Kyouya. It seemed like they’ve been walking for hours now looking for the dance studio they’re supposed to be in minutes ago.
The twins rolled their eyes, glad that their lord finally realized that they were indeed lost. No one had the heart to stop the enthusiastic man when he told them that he will lead the way to the dance studio after a change in clothes. And thus, they got lost in the huge building.
The young man opened what seems to be hundreds and hundreds of doors on every freaking floor. All of which seems to be occupied by another group of men who didn’t look all too happy to be disturbed by a man barging in through their doors. Some rooms though looks like some storage rooms for costumes. The twins thought that they were in a cosplay convention and thought that Renge would be happy to find those.
Tamaki sighed in defeat as he opened another door to find yet another empty room. Kyouya looked intently at Tamaki who slumped on the floor. “You know, there is always some sort of map in a building to show you where the rooms are,” he said. Tamaki looked up at the dark-haired, eyeglass wearing human looming above him. His eyebrows started to twitch in irritation before calmly saying, “Okaasan, why didn’t you tell me that earlier?” Kyouya just merely shrugged.
“Oi, what are you guys still doing here? Your practice started minutes ago!!!”
Tamaki looked at the figures coming towards them. They were two people, one looking like a girl and one looking like a hoodlum. Tamaki started to inch his way at the back of Mori senpai in fear for his precious life.
“Oi, Ryo, since when did you start wearing glasses again? Trying to copy our princess?”
“Koki, just shut up will you?” a very irritated Ueda snapped as he walked pass the group.
“Ueda!!! Oi!!!” Koki shouted while laughing as he tried to run after his very irritated band mate.
“Chotto,” Tamaki suddenly said catching Koki’s attention. “Uhm… what floor is our dance studio again?” he asked from behind Mori. Koki looked at Tamaki suspiciously before answering, “Just 2 more floors up. What’s wrong with you Yamashita? Hit your head or something?” With that, he ran after his band mate again who disappeared at the corner.
“Ahhh… sou ka, just two more floors up,” Tamaki said as he started to head towards the stairs. The rest just shrugged and followed him. Just climbing up this stupid flight of stairs for 2 more times was nothing compared to the other 15 they’ve just climbed up.
“Ahhh!!! It’s here!!!” They heard Tamaki excitedly shout out while pointing towards the door before coming in. The others followed suit and looked at the room inside. It was nothing extraordinary. It was a little too small to what they were used to. Is this really a dance studio? It wasn’t even half of their school’s clinic!!!
“Finally!!!” a very irritated cry was heard as every head turned towards the voice. A very irritated looking lady started to walk up towards them. Tamaki cowered in fear, “Okaasan!!! Tasukete!!!”
“Now get back to your positions and start dancing!!!” the lady ordered.
The twins followed obediently fearing for their well-being and even Hunny senpai started to run all over the place trying to look for his place. The sight of the group moving around and not to the positions she ordered angered the choreographer even more. The veins on her temples started to appear as it started to beat rather angrily.
“What the hell do you think you guys are doing?!” was the last thing the guys in the Jimusho heard.
“Do you think they’ll be fine?” a very concerned Kame asked his band mates after hearing the spine-tingling shout from NewS’ dance studio. He heard from Jin and Koki that NewS was acting very strange today. They were fine that morning weren’t they? He saw Tegoshi latched on to Massu, acting all lovey dovey, as usual. And Shige and Koyama seemed fine when he talked to them on their ride up the elevator. He saw Ryo looking quite grumpy about something which was not at all odd. And Yamapi was flapping his arms all over the place saying, “Look Kame!!! Akira visited you!!!” while laughing maniacally before disappearing at the next corner. Well, that’s the last time he saw them after their group too had a practice session.
“Maa… I guess they’ll be fine,” Maru answered while flipping through the pages of the magazine he was holding.
“But you didn’t see how they act Maru! They were like having anesthesia or something!!!” Jin said with a panicky voice. What the hell? A what?
Maru broke out in fits of laughter as Koki did the same while gripping on his sides. Ueda looked disbelievingly at Jin before returning back to fixing his hair. Junno, unfortunately choked on his drink and spluttered it all out at the unknowing Kame who all started the talk in the first place. Did this guy honestly go to LA to study English?
“Jin, honey, it’s not anesthesia, it’s amnesia,” Kame calmly said as he wiped off the coffee that was spluttered all over him. Junno was apologizing endlessly while wiping off the rest of the coffee off his band mate. Kame was just glad Junno was drinking an iced coffee this time around.
“Oh, sou ka,” Jin happily smiled. The rest of the KAT-TUN rolled their eyes in disbelief. No one had to go to LA to know the difference between an anesthesia and amnesia.
After what seems like to be forever, the Host club went out of the studio with broken limbs, bones and every other body part that could possibly be broken. The three hour practice left them with sore muscles and backs, fear for their lives and I-Za-Na-I-Zu-Ki playing repeatedly in their heads. How could these people possibly be okay with these stuff? The way they were dancing was crazy!!! Come on!!!
Poor Mori senpai, with him being mistaken as Massu who was known for his skills in dancing, the choreographer was hard on him the most. The tall dark-haired man, with no other talent or skills other than in martial arts almost broke down in embarrassment and exhaustion. She was hard on Tamaki too since she expected him to dance rather sexily like he always did onstage, being him to be Yamapi afterall.
Hip thrusts was then the new word added to the Host club’s dictionary.
“Daijoubu?”
The group looked up in alarm at the new voice they heard. With their past experiences, they now knew that no one in this God forsaken building was normal. And they didn’t want another weirdo to talk to them. Even Mori senpai already lost his cool.
Toma laughed at the reaction his simple question got. The group suddenly got tense and looked at him warily. “Did that old choreographer of yours gave you a hard time again?” he asked while flashing a gentle smile.
Finally, an angel!!! Hunny thought as he latched on to the kind stranger. Toma was taken aback by the action but smiled wider as he assumed that it was a ‘yes’ to his question. “Come on, you guys look like you desperately need a rest,” he said as he motioned the others to follow him as Hunny kept on latching to him. “Kami-sama!!!” the Hitachiin twins chimed before they followed Toma too.
“Tell me what happened to you guys. All this crazy talk about you guys being weird is spreading around the whole JE,” Toma said as he watched the group try to rest in the really uncomfortable couches. It wasn’t soft and it made their backs ache even more.
“Can you keep a secret?” Tamaki softly whispered. The whole room went quiet. Kyouya sent a warning look to Tamaki but was ignored completely. The guy had enough of looking silly in front of all these people who practically knows them all too well to notice that something was wrong with them.
“Tama-chan,” Hunny whispered, he’s afraid of what the consequences of his actions would be. “Just let him be Mitsukuni,” Mori interrupted, he too was tired from all this acting. Hunny looked up at him as the twins sighed in agreement too. They thought it’ll be fun at first, but now they don’t think so anymore.
Toma was bewildered with the sudden seriousness of the atmosphere. And what’s with the Tama-chan and Mitsukuni? New nick names maybe?
“It’s Toma-kun right?” Tamaki asked before he went on to his confession, his eyes darting from one side to another. Toma nodded his head slowly, wondering still where all this talk could be heading. “And you said we could trust you with absolutely everything right? Because you are a good friend right?” Tamaki continued with Toma still nodding in answer to his questions.
“Well you see, we are not the people you think we are to be…” Tamaki said. Eehhh? What did he just say? Okay repeat, “Toma-kun, we are not the persons who you think we are. We came from Ouran and we just tested out this device that Kyouya’s scientists invented. It turned out to be a portal and we suddenly found ourselves here when we crossed it. And the people you think we are, are now in Ouran taking our place. We decided to send them there so that it would be fair for them since we got to try out their life. So yeah, we sent them there and they’re probably also pretending to be us like we’re pretending to be them,” Tamaki let out almost in one breath, he was now looking intently at Toma’s reaction to this.
“Uhm, Toma-kun?” Tamaki asked as Toma didn’t give any reaction at all to his confession. He just stood there with a blank expression which worried the whole group. “Toma-kun?” he repeated.
Toma looked at the group seriously before breaking into fits of laughter. “Okay, I know now for sure that something is wrong with you guys,” he managed to say in between.
“You know what, it’s already late, you guys should go home and have a decent sleep. I know it’s you day off tomorrow so you guys should think things over okay? Whatever’s wrong with you guys today will probably be gone tomorrow,” he added as he put on his jacket.
We’ll probably be like this until we decide to come back to Ouran. Tamaki cringed at the thought.
“Sore Ja,” Toma said as he headed towards the door and gave a warm smile. “Just rest okay?” and with that he was gone.
Tamaki looked back at his friends, not really knowing what to do. He looked expectantly at Kyouya who seems to have the answer to everything but was disappointed when no answer came from him too. Hunny was happily devouring a strawberry shortcake they fortunately found at the fridge. At least someone was happy.
“My Lord, just where is this home was he indicating?” the twins piped up.
The world instantly crashed down on Tamaki Suoh.
Kyouya sighed at the situation he was now facing. He wished he never suggested this adventure in the first place. He watched closely as Tamaki drew small circles on the floor in his dark corner. Some things never change huh.
Kyouya looked around the room to find anything that could help them now. He spotted a laptop not far away and decided to tinker around with it. Unfortunately it was password locked so it really was no use. Standing up, he noticed a cellphone lying around. He flicked it open and saw the background picture of the young man called Yamapi. He smiled as he rummaged through the phone to find any useful information.
“I think I know where that home is,” he said moments later. The twins rejoiced at the good news Kyouya brought. They’ve always knew they could rely on this senpai unlike the other one who was brooding at one corner.
The group started to march out the dressing room taking along with them the personal items left behind by NewS such as cellphones, etc. The twins found car keys on top near the mirrors and handed it over to Kyouya who luckily knows how to drive.
“Unlike some other who always relies on their chauffeurs,” they mockingly said before heading out the doors leaving Tamaki disheartened even more.
Reaching the parking lot, Kyouya pressed the car’s remote control for the lock thus indicating which car they should ride in. It was a tight fit and they have 2 other car keys with them but only Kyouya knows how to drive so they had to live with it. Thankfully, the car had a GPS and the group arrived safely at Yamapi’s house.
It was larger than what they first thought. Well, seems like the guy was indeed popular and made some money. He wasn’t like any other commoner and Tamaki felt quite guilty for calling him so. They entered the house and saw that it was sparkling clean.
The twins darted upstairs looking for the rooms while Hunny immediately went to the kitchen to find cakes. Tamaki just slouched on the couch glad that it was more comfortable than the one they had in the dressing room. Kyouya walked around the house to familiarize himself with it, which is the most rational thing to do because they would be staying here for who knows how long.
After dialing and ordering something for them to eat, Kyouya settled down in front of the computer he found near the living room. He switched it on and listened as the twins said that there were two rooms upstairs and they’re definitely taking the larger one. A full fledged battle then went on as Kyouya minded his own business again.
Browsing through the internet, Kyouya found the things he was searching for. Information to the identities of this people in a group called NewS. Thankful for the existence of fan girls who had enough time to make websites for these things, Kyouya printed out the infos before looking back to how things are going. The battle for the rooms still wasn’t done.
Kyouya stood up before looming menacingly over the fighting group which is composed mainly of Tamaki and the twins. Hunny and Mori senpai were too tired to argue and said that they could just sleep at the sofas since it was soft enough. The argument ceased when Kyouya declared that he and Tamaki will sleep on the larger room with the twins on the other room. The twins could do nothing but nod in agreement. Their fear for Kyouya was just too overpowering.
With the arrival of the food, and finally satisfying their growling stomachs everybody returned to their usual self. Kyouya decided it was the time for the lecture as he handed out the printed pages of infos about their characters. The group just looked down on the pages of paper shoved to them.
“This is what we’ll be learning tonight and by tomorrow should have been perfected to the tiniest bit of details,” he said with his usual air of authority. “We could not look like fools in front of these people anymore. I, as Kyouya Ootori just won’t accept that.” He said with finality as he stood up and went out to the garden to study his character Nishikido Ryo.
This is going to be a long, long night the rest thought and sighed as they too started to look for a place to study on how to act a bit more like the people the world expects them to be.
