So today as my first major introduction to college life. On one end of the spectrum, I have my brother frank who can help me out with all my academics...while on the other I have Tony (who in so many words showed me exactly where to get an apartment). He explained, in detail, where the parties are, were to hang out...
Jesus christ, I'm VERY excited. I don't think I've ever been this excited...for anything!
On the apartment front, I was told to look into this 'shared living' thing. Basically, it works like this:
You live in a townhouse, with 4 big bedrooms. These bedrooms have their own lock/key and bathroom. You have your own solitude, and for $350 a month all utilities are payed for (minus internet). So, in essence, you share a living room and kitchen. This works out great, because you end up living with people and have no fear of them breaking a lease and skipping out on you.
Not to mention...all the parties are at these places. Theres one place in particular, Excellence, that is THE party place (and is the defacto living for any hooters girl). I'm going to convince Brandon for us to live there.
I also scoped out the on-campus housing...Ridiculous. The housing is GORGEOUS, but $900 a month is a TAD steep for a 2 bedroom (PER PERSON). Of course, this includes your meals and utilities, internet and whatnot.
Still, the 'shared' living thing sounds a BIT more appealing.
It also leaves opportunities for 'other' people, as well.
Anyway, I also looked into the theater arts program at USF. They have an AWESOME arts program!! So, I've decided to do a business major focusing on Finance while I do a minor in FA.
Everything on campus is localized, too. And it's fucking gorgeous, I love it there. Just walking around I felt like I was 'home'.
Here's the way I look at it. I graduate this year, and I'm leaving people behind...sure. It's fate, this happens to everyone my age. But, there are those that have the option not to leave, to continue to be in someone's life even after highschool.
I'm unsure as to who exactly will follow me (and believe me, there is one person above all else I wish would do so). I have one already coming with me, possibly two. Brandon is a definate. Cliff is another, while the third shall remain a mystery ;)
So, I'll wrap up this sappy, 'lithium enduced' entry to say I actually look foward to starting school for once.
