Instead of taking the alcohol and opening it for himself he set it aside on the counter and left the other one for Dionysus to take again. He gave Dionysus a contemplative gaze before he turned to open the fridge and pull out the milk. He started to pour himself a cup and turned back to his friend.

“When are you going to stop taking money from your mistress of the night?” Apollo said sternly, his face as calm as ever.

It was not the first time that Apollo had lectured Dionysus. It was probably not the last. Just like any other friendship that he had, Apollo cherished it and made it as strong as he could. Although things were entirely more knotted with Dionysus. They had these constant battles about how to live life, how to go about the trials and errors of everyday living.

Apollo was a independent man. He hated having to leech off anything, and refused to have to lean on anyone unless he really needed it. Perhaps that was a sort of weakness, but it was his reasoning and his critical thinking that left him as such. Apollo knew when to seek help from friends, but he lived with moderation, and a artistic way of life.

Dionysus, was entirely the opposite. He lived on the edge, he wanted people to make sure he stayed afloat, he was the type of man that wouldn’t think twice about taking a free ride. Dionysus looked as life as a simple game, and that it should be taken in the most simplistic matter. That meant living on the edge, holding and squeezing it for everything that it was.

So there, was the point that was made in their relationship that made them what they were. Constantly battling for the ultimate way to lead a life, the perfect way to live happily. But was happiness limited to things like this?

“Are you happy doing what you’re doing.” Apollo asked.

He was prepared for the fight. Apollo would fiercely defend his way, while he knew Dionysus would himself. It would be a miracle if they got anywhere tonight.
