Orion woke up at 7:30 that morning, which was a while later than he usually woke up in the mornings. Of course, he needed a fair amount of time to get ready for the day ahead, and each day required a lengthy, refreshing shower to begin with. Funnily enough, the shower he had every morning was rather pointless, since he worked at an automechanic garage and came home covered in layers of dirt, but that did not stop Orion from wanting to look good each morning. His rule was to spend as long as possible trying to look good for the day, and this morning was no exception, late or not late. Orion took his time to comb his hair five different ways until he got the one he wanted, and yet didn't bother to shave his face this morning. Sometimes, he found, a rugged look on the face was suitable for going to work. Taking a crisp pair of jeans and a clean shirt from the closet, Orion finished getting ready and was out of the house by 9 this morning.
Not bad, he thought to himself as he drove his shiny truck down the road to work. He went over his schedule in his head, One appointment for 1:00 and another for 2:30 was all he had to worry about today, so he relaxed his grip on the wheel a little bit as he decided to head to the little cafe where the cute girl worked a few blocks away from work to get a good breakfast. As he drank his cream and sugar with latte in it and read the paper, he couldnt help but get the feeling that female eyes were watching him intently from behind. As he looked back to check, scores of eyes suddenly darted around the room randomly. Instead of acknowledging them, Orion simply went on eating his bagel and reading the paper. That feeling would stay until he left the store himself, and even then... Oh well. It's not like the attention was a bad thing.
The cafe was pretty out of the way, so it took Orion a good while to get to work, but he still managed to pull in to work as his clock hit noon. Perfect timing was another thing Orion liked to brag about, and coupled with his so-called expert knowledge of streets and traffic, Orion figured himself a pretty good travel companion. He walked into work greeting his coworkers, and silently wondering if he would ever get the chance to prove his travelling prowess to anybody he knew.
