Days of Heaven (1978)

While at home on the farm, I've sometimes thought that the barnyard sounds-animals, machinery, windy field grass- often take on a rhythmic, musical quality. This effect is well-achieved in this film and the result is a harmonic blend that really sets the scene.

In the country, light bounces off of the field grass and "the magic hour" lasts almost a lot longer. The makers of this film understood and the result really looks like the era and the places.

Slow-moving. Impressionistic. Lyrical.

I could say a lot more. Just check it out yourself!

movie, feature, film, awesome
