Everywhere I look, more lights are being turned out. At the very least, said lights are being dimmed down to nothing. The waning of even the best and brightest age old technological marvels affirms the notion that there is no positive side to the painful light pollution that poisons existence. The cultural change which catalyzed the slow burn of our precious fuel has perhaps prevented the greater enlightenment of mankind. Either people are beginning to realize this, or they are just continuing to give up on what has been graciously given to them by external forces. Neither of these is encouraging, as I never expect to view the outside as it truly is without the interference of visual or cerebral distortion.
The idea that electric lightbulbs are killing all the dreamers of the world is too romantic to be taken seriously, and the presence of romanticism in the previous phrase may well defeat the concept of these passages. It is a feeling of impending widespread disgrace which forces these words into the public eye.
