100 Making A Difference photoshoot by John Russo

Aug 28, 2011 17:38

Life isn't defined by what you can accumulate, but by what you can give back. Photographer John Russo's vision for 100 Making A Difference came when he asked himself, "what I am doing to give back?".

His answer was to create a charity book, 100 Making A Difference. The book features a collection of passionate human beings who are dedicated to improving the lives of others through their tireless charitable work. John's status as one of the worlds leading celebrity photographers allows him access to iconic people, who also happen to be very charity driven.

John asked Katherine Heigl and her mother, Nancy Heigl, to sit for a portrait for the book, at the Montage Beverly Hills. Their Jason Debus Heigl Foundation was founded by Katherine and Nancy to celebrate the memory of a wonderful son and brother, in honor of his strong, compassionate nature and great love of animals. The JDHF works directly to address the pet population crises in California and across the country, funding and promoting spay/neuter programs, pet adoption and pet education programs and small-dog transports to no-kill shelters and rescue facilities throughout the country.

Visit 100 Making A Difference for more information on the book which also includes luminaries such as Jeff Bridges, Sophia Loren, Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Cristina Ricci, Kyle Busch, Blake Mycoskie, Beth Doane, Yvon Chouinard and Prince Edward.
