Trouble With Rogers ....

Cut to save your friends page ... just me ranting about a bad experience with a Rogers store re: my cell phone.



Well not so much Rogers as the people they have working for them ... When Richie and I received our cell phones last year, we were told that we had a one year warranty. My phone was working fine until the beginning of December 2005. The screen on the front started getting all funky and the camera didn't work very well leaving yellow lines all across the picture - not to mention most pictures looking like they were demonized. I called Rogers and asked them to send me a copy of my authorization form because I could not send my phone in to get fixed without it - it took them 4 weeks to send me that form!!! After numerous calls and complaints I finally had them fax it to me because my warranty was soon going to expire. Wouldn't you know, the day I received my warranty, my phone magically fixed itself. - Coincidence? - I don't think so! So the first 3 weeks of January my phone worked perfectly fine and all of a sudden on the 25th ( 3 days before my warrantly expired ) it got all funky again. WooHoo!!! I still had time to bring it in!

I brought it to a Rogers store so they could send it in for repairs but the "manager" at the store told me that it was VERY close to the expiry date ... I think he was trying to hint that he didnt want to do it. I told him that it was a good thing it happened now and he had to send it in to be repaired. I was told it would take two weeks and everything would be fixed.

Yesterday, I got a call from the same gentleman telling me that my phone was ready. I asked him what the address of the store was again because I didn't have it on me and he replied with "If you dropped off the phone than you should know the address, I shouldn't have to tell you it again" ... excuse me! so I said "Listen, I don't carry your address with me all the time, I want to know what the address is so I can pick up my phone!". After work I headed over to the store and once I got there I was handed my phone and told that everything was fixed - LIES!!! - . I opened my phone and the camera was EXACTLY the same. When I told him it wasn't fixed his response was "Well thats too bad cause your warrantly is now expired so there is nothing I can do for you." I told him that that was the reason why I brought my phone in and it's not fixed! He just shrugged it off and told me I had to take my phone home and deal with Rogers myself cause he could do nothing else cause my warranty was over. He also said that when they received my phone the warranty had already expired so they wouldn't take it again. I told him I didn't care how long it took him to send my phone in, I brought it before the warranty was over and I expect my phone to be fixed! He simply said No, he didn't want to pay the 25 dollars to send it in again ...

Okay fine, I sat in the store and used their phone to call Rogers - I wasn't going to let him get away with that. After dealing with them and telling them how rude and stubborn this man was - they extended my warranty until my phone was fixed to my standards... and if it doesn't get fixed I'm getting a new phone.

Damn straight!!! That dumb man doesn't know who he's dealing with.
