"Excuse me? Mister Frog? Mister Kermit the Frog?" The Reporter pushed his way through the crowd, elbowing rivals aside in order to thrust a microphone under his target's nose. "A few questions for the Journal!"
"Sure," said Kermit pleasantly.
"What's it like working for the Mouse after so many years on your own?"
"I like to think of it as working with him. It's a collaboration."
"Don't you mean a takeover?" demanded the Reporter, pressing on before the celebrity could reply. "How does it feel, handing over your creativity for mere money? When you started out you were doing 5 minute kiddie spots and now look at you! Kermit the Frog, star of stage and screen and adored by millions all over the world. Why sell out now? Why let yourself be swallowed by the Corporate Rat?"
The Premiere crowd began to shift toward a new arrival on the red carpet and the Reporter suddenly found himself being inched away from his quary. "How does it feel, being an underling after so many years on top?" He could barely see the small green frog now and struggled to keep the mic close enough to catch the answer. "Is it fate? Karma? What does Karma mean to you, Kermit?" he shouted over the noise of the crowd.
The Frog looked puzzled by the question. "What? Glancing around, he saw a long-legged, beautiful brunette stepping out of a limo a few feet away. "What does Carmen mean to me?" Kermit repeated as the actress waved and made her way toward him. "Nothing! Not a thing! Not like that, I mean! We're just good friends! What are you trying to do, get me in trouble with the Pig? Sheesh!"
