Write about Mother (yours or someone elses)

One of the nicest Mothers I've ever met (other than my own, of course!) was Ma Bear, Fozzy's Mom.

Sometimes Mothers love unexpected surprises, like getting that water lily you picked for her on your way home from school or the dried fly and finger-paint project you drew in art class that's still hanging on the refrigerator door. But I've learned that there are some surprises Mothers would rather not have, like finding salt in the sugar bowl or an E on your report card. Showing up on her doorstep unannounced on a snowy winter night with a dozen friends ranks right up there with finding squid eyeballs in the tapioca.

That's kind of what Fozzy did one Christmas Eve a few years ago. See, there were quite a few of us at the Muppet Theatre who didn't have a place to go for the holidays. Fozzy believes that no one should be alone for Christmas and said his Mother would be glad to have us. Unfortunately, he told everyone except Ma Bear, who was very surprised to see us.

Some Mothers might have been awfully angry to be presented with uninvited guests on Christmas Eve (especially when she's about to leave on a tropical vacation), but Ma Bear welcomed us all with open arms. Very big, warm, fuzzy, arms. She made each and every one of us feel like family. But that's what Mother's do best, isn't it?
