White Light & Prayers Needed For Blair, And His Parents

I need some magic.

Blair, the second cat with cancer, is starting to go downhill. It's hard to tell whether or not this is just a bad patch or whether or not this is The End. He's not eating right, has a mouth infection, and is just generally starting to have that shadowy presence.

The kicker is, Dan's sister is getting married Friday. We have to leave Thursday morning, and we won't be home until Saturday. We've already cut this as fine as we can so he's here alone as little as possible. A neighbor will be coming regularly to feed and check on the cats and Blair especially. He'll be sequestered in a safe space where he can't get into trouble or hide. (Boarding him isn't an option. He gets very stressed when he's boarded, and that won't help a thing.)

We have the medication schedule worked out to a fine dance step. We have the food at idealized maximum. He's still drinking, which is an excellent sign. I can coax food into him before we go so that even if he doesn't want to eat while we're gone, he won't starve. Even so, anybody who wants to say kitty prayers or make an offering to Bast, we would be very grateful.

I'm okay with him needing to go when he needs to go. But man, if he could hold off until next week, that would be so much better.

And I am so ready to be done with cats with cancer.

cats, blair
