Walter, on the mend!
Just got back from my weekend in Iowa City with THE FABULOUS FANTASTIC SHELLY B, where there was drinking, eating, Tarot, astrology, coffee, and lots and lots and LOTS of talking. I also got to see my mother and brother briefly, but more on that in a minute.
Walter is doing fabulously. Dan gave a great weekend update here, and also gave me text updates all day Saturday; I thought that was exceptionally thoughtful, to keep me regularly informed without interrupting precious talking time with Shelly. I caught him at the phone, though, during one texting session, and after a few exchanges I got one that said.
Bast arrived in the mail today.
I laughed, but in a touched way, because I knew it was some internet fairy who read my casual reference to needing a Bast statue, but I didn't know who. While I texted Dan back to ask, I explained to my mother and brother whom I was dining with what Dan had just said. My brother, sitting next to me, gives me a big grin and a wink. It turns out HE sent the statue! :) Thanks again, Hans. (It's absolutely gorgeous: Dan has a link in his post cited above.)
Anyway. Now my lovely in-laws are here replacing parts of my deck, again. I'm going to go downstairs, start a pot of coffee, then go sit on the deck and tell Tom Cullinan how fabulous he is. Walter is going to hang out in his personal isolation booth a bit longer, drinking water and eating salmon and chicken.
