the night's end
tonight the sky was electric pink and i came home from the farmer's market with free bread and flowers.
yesterday i took eli to the zoo for the very first time and we saw fruit bats and lorrikeets and an ocelot, and a polar bear who pooped right in front of us.
we are hang-drying herbs around the house and i am picking fresh peas out of the garden.
i am anxious for tomatoes.
kara is in india and susan is in alaska and i feel a little lonely about that. there is great comfort in knowing friends are close by, and i have lost that with these two, until the end of the summer.
tonight i will make sangria for my weekend and read a few rumi poems to lull me to sleep.
