But not me, yet!
SO many thanks to everyone who sent me cards, virtual LUSH and cakes and sippy-things and images today, and extra shiny thanks to
pheebs1 for her toe-curlingly lovely
Sam Winchester/Jess Mariano fic and to
innie_darling for her heart-tearingly beautiful
San + Dean + John at Disneyland fic, which was especially fun to read the day before I go to Disneyland yay!
And to Steve Jobs for introducing
this gorgeous piece of work that I can covet, even if I can't actually obtain one in the near future. Are there any "WANT" or "COVET" icons featuring the Air yet? Because I feel very infinite in saying "WANT" about an icon that says "WANT" - like mirrors reflecting each other, they go on forever.
And to the BBC, who are lovely enough to start showing Torchwood in what is technically today in the UK, UK time! Squee! I am pretty unspoiled for everything other than That Guest Actor in this ep, so please, make it my birthday present not to spoil me!
And to my husband who took me to see National Treasure II
Overall, I loved it. So much love for Riley, and the interplay between John Voight and Helen Mirren was lovely and Nic Cage didn't annoy me too much, but OMG why didn't he call his Close Personal Friend at the FBI sooner, and why did they have the whole Evil! Not Evil! Evil! Not Evil And Self-Sacrificial! setup for Ed Harris? Really, if you know, please tell me. I heard that 20 minutes or so were cut from the film - did they explain the plot issues in the cut scenes? Will there be an extended DVD? And is there any Reiley Poole/Sam Winchester fic out there? Or NT/Numb3rs xovers?
We also had ice cream for lunch and saw Enchanted, too, and went to a bookstore and I got 10ish hours of sleep last night and it's been a lovely, mellow birthday.
Aaron's grandfather is on the mend, more or less. You can't be 91 and have pneumonia and bounce back quickly, but he was moved out of ICU yesterday and will probably go to a longterm recovery facility next week. I'm so glad we came out here for the week, because it was just a very family-focused time, and it was the right place to be.
