From LadyMaidMarian's LJ:
That's where most of this hatred started. When an H/Ger spoke it was GT speaking, but when an H/Her spoke it WASN'T FA speaking. Why is that?Perhaps it's because FA is ( Read more... )

Screened, most likely. What did you say?

All I can guess is that they were convinced *before* FA began that it would be an H/Hr tyranny and don't want to admit they were wrong. I need to go find the url for it, but I don't think that's the case, because WAYBACK when GT was launched, they plugged it, quite happily, on FA ( ... )

Hey - I've been trying to YM you about this over the past few days but timezones being what they are (and my usual curtailed-internet-situation on the weekend being what it is) we haven't connected. Hopefully Monday?

The other half of the question, though, would be why (if at all) were H/G shipper views automatically ascribed to GT?

It's all about perception. See, I actually don't see that happening, but it also didn't occur to me to argue with her on that topic, because she was so convinced that it's the truth. Now, I know that doesn't actually make sense - I mean, I could've argued about all the times where it *hasn't* happened - but the thing is, I do think that there are people in the fandom who attribute comments made by one GT admin to all the GT admins. I've probably done it myself.

But that's a horse of a different colour from her comment about FA, to my mind.

I think if my comment had been "unscreened" I would've clarified it. When I posted, I was just seeing red for a moment - but I don't think I was especially mean/rude/cruel.

Oh dear, here I go -- coming in late again.

The *hatred*, as Marian calls it, did *not* start from *any* members of FA's mod squad, and it certainly didn't come from any of the H/Hr shippers on FA's mod squad!

What is she going on about?

I don't know Marian, and I don't know what she's going on about, but I suspect she's referring to the "new hatred," not the old hatred. In which case she would mean msscribe, who certainly is an FA mod (and an H/H shipper). And if she's talking about the "old hatred," perhaps she perceives it as coming from Cassandraclaire, who was in fact an FA mod (and a H/H shipper) at the time the hatred began. Cassie may have been the victim of a crime, but she did, indeed, "start" it.

Look, I have made it very clear that I am sick to death of the feuding. I have asked people to tell me what bad stuff they've heard about me, and they have not, as yet, done so. I am perfectly happy to mend walls, to peacefully coexist, etc., but I cannot do it by speaking into a vaccuum. When nobody responds, no dialogue ( ... )

I'm going to address a few things, point by point, in this, because I think it's necessary to be perfect clear about facts. However, I may be wrong about certain things and I'll try to make it clear when I'm not 100% sure about something I'm saying.

Cassie may have been the victim of a crime, but she did, indeed, "start" it.SHe *started it*? She *started it*? So shocking, I had to ask it twice, because I didn't believe my eyes when I read it the first time. How did she *start it*? By saying she was personally squicked by teen pregnancy fics, including Imogen's? Or by going to lunch with Arabella and GinnyPotter when I wasn't able to join them in NYC in the fall of 2001, because I was too upset to travel in those few weeks after 9/11? Which particular thing started it ( ... )

Part two, as it was too long... heidi8 March 8 2004, 07:18:39 UTC

Those former GTers (all of them) have been the target of HUNDREDS of scornful and often cruel LJ and Fandom Wank posts -- a good number of them from you, personally.

Actually, I rarely post on F_W at all. I can't say never, as I did post pretty extensively the HPBNFDeathmatch and fandom_scruples wanks, as well as the one last year about the DEATHMATCH thread name and a few other small things, but I haven't posted extensively on F_W, much less about the ex-GT admins. I just did a quick scan through last fall's F_W posts about the site's implosion and found no posts from me on any of those topics, for example.

Now, that's not to say I never posted anything in response to posts from any ex-GT mod-or-user - I did post a reply in my own LJ to kvader because he didn't unscreen my reply in *his* LJ (much as Marian didn't unscreen me last week). But, really, it was a factual reply, meant to clear up some misinformation. I'm not peaceful enough to always just sit when I see someone saying something inaccurate, especially where I have accurate information at ( ... )

"Sporkify" Fandom Wanks them all the time. They think, and I believe they are right in thinking this, that "Sporkify" is, indeed, an FA Mod.They *think* this? Why ( ... )
