Belated Update and New Year's Resolution

Here's a belated update for all my peeps! I finished the Dunwoody Jingle Jog. I finished in about 47 minutes, which is close to my training on the treadmill (which didn't include the hills of the 27 degree weather). I've decided to run the Shamrock and Roll in March with a bunch of ATL folks. To prepare for that, I want to improve my time considerably and run the whole thing if possible. So I am revisiting C25K but upping my speed to 5 mph and then walking at the jog I graduated c25k with -- 4.2 mph. I'm wearing a heart rate monitor on my runs and it is quite the workout. I'd love to run faster, but my body isn't ready.

My New Year's resolution is to get up at 5 am and start exercising in the morning. This has been my plan for the last few months and it hasn't happened once. I'm not very logical at 5am but coordinated enough to reset the alarm up 2 more hours. At least I was in bed reading at 9:30 pm last night.

I'm toying with the idea of joining the Dynamo Master's adult swim practice in the morning. Not sure if I need to work on my fitness before I do this though. It would pretty much require that I get up at 5 am anyway, so that's my first goal.

In other news, I learned that my mom had hemorrhage in her eye which is a complication of her diabetes and high blood pressure. If you want to get really depressed read some Web MD articles about that subject.

Tonight, Robbie and I go for a cooking class at the Publix Apron school. Should be fun. Happy New Year!
