1) Supposedly LJ, MySpace, and Face Book are all having money troubles and membership plateaus. I guess the decade of pretending that we are all interested in strangers' lives online is coming to a close.

2) The custard stand in our town is reopened for the season. It's called 4 Queens Dairy and their whole culinary itinerary is an obvious rip-off ( Read more... )

1) Yr a Republican, or a reasonable (?) facsimile tehreof, you more than some, at laest, oughtta realize, SOMEBODY'S gotta pay to keep that stuff going. They are spacious as all get-out inside. Because the shell supports it's own weight, 100% of the internal space is usable.

Apparently the bulk of their revenue doesn't come from memberships, it comes from online ads. Like those stupid "shoot the duck and re-finance your house" ads which I'm sure aren't plentiful anymore given the economy.

Myspace is a useful vehicle for Fox but a lot of people made the 2nd migration to Facebook.

I'm surprised Yahoo or Google haven't put both of them out of business.

I think the market is maybe too oversaturated. There's probably a viable business model for a social-networking website but not with three of them going at once.

Yes but Yahoo and Google have so many other features and benefits that they can sink anyone. Granted, maybe news and finance isn't a top priority of the MySpace user.
