What a wonderful line! I love it. It just sums them up beautifully.
for all the wank they're catching about using a classical horror gimmick, they did do it rather well.
I agree. Now, it may be partly that I don't watch horror movies - no, not ever - so cliches don't seem to obvious. But I like the mood they set up.
it rather is the american dream to run into a room and not mortally wound ANYBODY. Wait... there's something wrong with that. I think you're supposed to kill them.
I loved that scene in so many ways - including that Jack didn't kill them. And I understand (or various levels) why he didn't. I don't understand why Gwen didn't shoot to kill when she had the chance, though. She might have saved Owen. The fact that he ended up surviving wasn't her doing.

I thought so. Not overdone. Jack seems to have condeded the ground to Owen.

I understand why he didn't, but I also know that it's an obscene horror cliche for someone to bust up in the place and kill everybody. But I really want more insight into Jack's character, fundamentally. If they go through all 13 eps without SOME kind of really explicit explanation, the chances of this getting a second season are slimming.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, because I like him so much.
