ESC, strike and such

On friday morning, just about when I was about to put myself inside the car, I felt this "snap" in my lower back. Ouch! I went to work anyway, it was pure hell. I could go home knowing I didn't have to work during the weekend, but since my back hurted so much, I have to admit I was quite unable to enjoy some time off to the fullest. I'm slightly better now, but I don't really move around gracefully :) I only have to work 4 hours today, so I'll give it a try instead of calling the douctor for just a strained muscle.

Iril got some time off school. Her teachers are on strike, and I don't know when the school will open again. Many graduates these days, and they will not be able to do their final exams. Some health care workers, and scientists, are also on strike, and on friday even more people will be picked to join them. It's a problem for many people that kindergardens and elementary schools are closing, since someone has to take care of the kids. I doubt this strike will go on forever.

Oh, and Norway beat Sweden big time in the ESC this year :) Yesterday I had a blast reading swedish newspaper, because they always tend to blame everyone else for their misery, and the very thought of them having a REALLY crappy song and a horrid artist, didn't strike them one bit. Russia won for the first time with an awfull song, Norway 5th, and actually the best western european country. I don't think ESC can exist much longer as it is today. Italy, Austria and Luxembourg already skipped the contest, and I think the rest of western Europe is about to follow their example, countries like Ireland and the UK no longer stand a chance. The Balkan only votes for other Balkan countries, and the former Soviet only votes for the soviet countries, and other eastern countries assosiated with the Soviet Union. I've read that the UK is doubting their future participation, same as France and Ireland. However, if they intends to win they can't send crap like this, this, this and this!
