VtM: An unusual gaming session

Sep 24, 2012 15:11

Our vampire heroes were summoned to the Elysium once more, and notice that for some reason, all the Nosferatu seem to be missing. Silver steps onstage. He brings news of Prince Qadir's final death, and begins to show a video clip on the screen behind him.

Cut scene, we switch characters to those of the Sabbat, prepared for us by our GM. I play a Tzimisce ancilla, Jone plays a Lasombra elder, Kaisa a Brujah elder, Mikko a Tzimisce neonate and Allu a young Lasombra neonate. We are on a mission, time dating some weeks back. This pack of the prestigious Black Hand kidnaps the prince from his penthouse suite, leaving behind the scene described earlier, when our true heroes go to investigate. It was almost eery how exactly we managed to explain the setting with our actions. In the end, the Sabbat group puts an amulet around the Prince's neck and ties him to the statue of sitting Abraham Lincoln in Washington D.C. to admire the glorious, American sunrise. They assign ghouls to video-tape the whole event.

The video ends, and the Elysium is in shock. Soon, chaos breaks loose as vampires begin to squabble over who should assume power. Slowly our heroes slip away from the bickering crowds, and outside. Dom gets a phone call from Jess, asking for Dom to acquire the laptop of Nikolai, a Tremere whom Jess supposes might be a traitor. Walter, on the other hand, gets a call from the aforementioned Nikolai that Silver is the one with the sinister intentions...always a nice feeling to be a pawn in the games of the ancillas and elders, right? In a minute a young Ventrue with a pell-mell pack attacks Dom's car and blames him for being "That German Bitch's lap dog". After the exchange of a few gunshots, the gang makes a run for Walter's place in Dom's car.

After the troupe leaves Walter's pad, KABOOM! Dom's car is completely obliterated by a bomb set under it. The clanless Brooklynian lets out a litany of swearwords, grabs what he can from his trunk, and our heroes escape, in turn, in Walter's car, from a bigger gang that tries to pursue.

Earlier C had found a mysterious Nigerian letter in her purse, and the vampires begin to solve its mysteries, which includes purchasing 42 light bulbs. Eventually the letter's code prompts to find an "Adriaan De Jong", whom a brief bout of Googling proves to have been an editor of New York Tribune. The letter also leads the vampiric five to an Irish Bar where the Leprechaun sign outside points down to the sewers. Chiara manages to put her fear of rats aside, and the party finds a small office room with an old, outdated newspaper on the table, editor....who other than Adriaan De Jong. An article in the newspaper indicates that he died in a mysterious fire on the outskirts of the city. Investigation time.

In the news of next evening there's talk of gang wars, fires, explosions and even terrorism.
