Hey world, here I am
So my dad informed me the other day that I was the first Feild in family history to make a 4.0. Im pretty proud of that considering the level of academia in our blood line. But then I think about the classes I took and its not that much of a feet. If you make anything lower than an A in painting or drawing you either aren't breathing or you didn't sign up for the class. If you like watching movies and music videos and talking about Calvin Klien ads then you will make an A in visual culture too. But the amazing thing is I managed to ace Dr. Otto's Philosophy of Religion, but so did 10 other people in the 15 student class. So I guess its kinda cool.
Im making a lot of money at Pie Works even though I've gotten yelled at a lot. I almost quit the other night when two tee ball little league teams came in a row... I love kids but the ceilings are high in that restuarant and it was just too much after four hours of waiting tables.
Gay politics is pretty cool. We had a transgender individual come and speak to us. Paul who later became Pamela believe he (she) was a girl until the age of 4 when his dad caught him painting his nails with the other girls and was repremended for what Paul (Pamela) thought he (she) was supposed to be doing. Pamela told us of her struggles as a women trapped in a mans body and his marriage to a woman that failed after 22 years. Its really sad, Pamela (Paul) now lives off of disibility becuase no one wants to hire a man who thinks, acts, and dresses like a woman... Pamela takes hormones but because of medical complications she can't have the surgery to completely make a woman so Pamela has accepted that she will spend the rest of her life alone... because no one wants to date someone with boobs and a penis. We also had a minister from the Christ Church of Hope come and speak to us today. It was cool because he is an openly gay man who lives with his partner and still preaches from the pulpit. Ill share more once I visit the church, we have to visit the church in order to totally complete the class.
Shreveport is nice right now. Im staying with Melisa right now and its really nice to actually go to class and come back to a house... feels normal. I can't wait to move off!!! Tonight Dan is buying us beer and we are going to sit around and get drunk and talk with a few other people- a favorite activity of mine! I need to shower, its been a while, another great thing about summer- not realizing how long its been since you bathed because you aren't doing ANYTHING!! But I can't wait to get back to LR and hang out with zaff, grieb, and shoe, and then Mayray when shes in town for her internship which is sadly way too short...
