You know... I think you really needed this break, kudos to the doc (Dr Trent per chance? He has been my saviour in leaving me at home to look after myself in this current flare up rahter then ruching me back) and stuff work - it really looks that it was getting a wee bit too much. Forget about the 4 months off in 8, it's not like you had a choice is it? I've been off since late January, and the first three months I essentially slowed my recovery down with worrying about being sent back before I could cope but at the same time worrying what the porlonged absence would look like on my professional record - forget it it and make sure to re-allign yourself

woodside medical practice, Jardine Crescent, Dr.s Trent, Taggart and Cooper. I have found Dr Cooper to be a bit of a cold fish, she wasn't very helpful, Dr Trent has been super for me, haven't seen any of the other associates at all.
Out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, why did yo end up having a pain clinic consultation?
i developed serious joint pains in my knees hip and wrist when i hit 16 this carried on for a number of years getting steadily worse. My Doc put me on anti-inflamitories for years they did nothing, i had join swelling the works.. saw a number of specialists who did nothing to really help..
What was eventually diagnosed was Doublejointedness, short tendons for long bones, everyday wear and tear on joints due to double jointedness.. etc.. nobody actually settled on a proper diagnosis.
In the end I saw a pain specialist for one consultation (because they did think it was in my head.. which lead to me getting all conflicted because I knew it wasn't in my head) and then got put on a low dose of Amytriptaline(anti-depressant) because someone had this idea that it was actually the nerves firing off pain signals (never explained the swelling...but hey) The medication did actually do some good. the pain reduced to practically nothing.. and has lasted that way for over 2 years.. Its only recently that I have started to creak a bit again.
Funny how they seem to be enamoured with the ampytriline, I have been offered the same thing yesterday, and turned it down again for its toxicity and side effects are systemic, and I don't want to go down that path at the moment.
The idea the the nerves are oversensitized and firing off pain signals is one of those they are using for fibro too, I am beginning to wander if it's just yet another of their blanket "reasons" for what they do not know. In the case of fibro the nerves firing randomly doesn't explain the stiffness and spasms, nor the energy levels of a feeble newt.
