I have just acquired between 18 and 21 meters of pure silk, some of it chinese, for £7. Now I have no excuses to stop procrastinating learning to sew.
crashbarrier, there was quite a lot left in the form of sari's for £2 each in the myton hospice charity shop in cannon park. Also, I have been offered the long term loan of a sewing machine. I shall be making contact as soon as you feel creating again - but keep looking after yourself first please! :)
