of gelati filled days and sand in our shoes
yesterday, mat and i spent the day down in st kilda. it was a glorious day, much too nice to be sitting indoors writting assignments. after much confusion about how to get there, yes we walked back and forth between the melb uni swaston tram stop and the tram stop on elgin st we found ourselves in st kilda.
gelati was the order of the day. yay! we stopped at fritz for award warning chocolate gelati, chai and raspberries for me and vanilla, strawberries and lemon for mat. headed down to the pier and sat on the rocks eating gelati and taking happy snaps of the sea and sun. walked on the beach after but water was much too cold. went window shopping for a bit and ended up having dinner at the metropol. we were big fatties and gorged on two pizzas each (they were dinner plate sized, but still...) and a pitcher of sangria between us. dinner was superb and we ate out on the deck enjoying the sun set. it was only slightly marred by the after-work drinks antics of a group of corporates in anticipation of grand final day today.
i guess my point is, i had a really lovely day yesterday with such simple pleasures as food and friendship and just wanted to share my little springtime beach romp.
