Fish Camp was good. I think it was pretty successful, mostly due to all the prospective squad leaders and not much to Jack and Amanda and I because we just taught it...then everyone else was supposed to be the ones to go over it because that was the whole point, for the other people to get a chance to teach...anyway, now I'm just rambling. I did have fun walking around meeting some freshmen and watching the leaders. And also with the directors, learning some of their secrets to effective observing...he he he. And just talking to Mr. Greene about drumsticks make you dumber(no offense percussionists), but mallets are okay, and that when you get in front of a group of people and try to teach you end up sounding five times dumber than you really are. Something about having a Long Ranger around your neck and standing in front of a bunch of people on a marching field made my brain and mouth disconnect and I felt stupid, I swear...but oh well. Overall I had fun just watching.
I now have a new mouthpiece! Hooray. I still have to give B hers back.
I can't wait until Tuesday, when juniors and sophomores get their yearbooks! I almost completely forgot about yearbooks. So now I'm happy.
And I also of course cannot wait until Friday. Band banquet. Funny how two little words can carry so much weight. I am very very excited to see who receives some much-deserved awards, and who our leadership for next year will be. And of course getting dressed up and eating the amazing chocolate cake isn't bad either. ;)
Tomorrow is Mother's Day and we're going down to San Antonio to see The Lion King! I am mucho excited. Everyone love your mommy tomorrow (and all the time...yeah)!
