This Is A Post
I've been listening to the MJ songs for this weeks Glee and I figured I'd give my opinions on them. Just because I can. Feel free to scroll past this random post.
I'm going to go from least favourite to favourite because, we all know how much I love lists, right?
10. I Just Can't Stop Loving You 2/10
I want Finn and Rachel to break up. This is not news. I want Rachel to realize her dreams are bigger than Finn (something she DID realize in season 1, but season 3 Rachel seems to have lost her brains) and I want her to run off to New York and be fabulous. /this song made me realize that isn't going to happen. Ever. They're going to get married, aren't they? The season is going to end with them getting married. The world hates me, I swear. (Also, on a side note, Finn should never sing this high. Ew.)
9. Never Can Say Goodbye 3/10
I used to wonder why we didn't get many Quinn solos. Then I heard this song. Now I understand. Her voice doesn't have enough...well anything really to warrant her singing a solo. It's just so...bland. There's nothing there. This song nearly makes me fall asleep when I hear it, which is kind of sad because I do thing she's trying her best. Oh, well. At least we probably aren't going to be getting more of her singing anytime soon.
8. Ben 3.5/10
That's right. I hated Ben. I hated the song Klainers have been freaking out about for weeks now. Why? Well, Kurt's voice, while beautiful as always, just sounds so...bored. He's not into it at all which is sad considering this is a song to his boyfriend who was hurt. But see, I could deal with that if this was just a boring Kurt solo (hell, any Kurt solo is a great Kurt solo), but it wasn't. No. Klainers finally get a moment after being snubbed the last few episodes and both Finn and Rachel need to be there. Why do they both get verses? Why does Finn's verse have the line They don't see you as I do I wish that they'd try to when only a few episodes ago he was still being an ass to Blaine? WHY OH WHY DOES KURT GET THE VERSE WHEN HE CALLS BLAINE HIS FRIEND LIKE A MILLION TIMES?! I just...I take issue with this you guys. It's boring and it has Finchel encrouching on my Klaine time. :(
7. Bad 4.5/10
This song wasn't really, bad per se. I liked the whole Warblerections combination (something I've been waiting to hear again since the ever amazing Somewhere Only We Know happened). The beginning got me excited, but then Santana came in sounding completely tuned out. Like, the other singers sounded okay, but the chorus is the part of the song where all the power lies. If you're going to sing it you better be ready to bring your A game. This was Santana's C game at best. It made the cover sound so mediocre in comparison to some of the others. It should have been given to Artie, honestly.
6. Wanna Be Startin' Something 6/10
FINALLY I'M GOING TO BE POSITIVE! This song is fun. The whole ma ma se, ma ma sa, ma ma coo sa part was amazing and it made me feel like dancing. Blaine sounded good on it. I didn't like when he tried to growl, but that was a small complaint. I guess the only real reason this one is so low is because I don't have a burning need to listen to it on repeat forever. After a few plays it just kind of...stopped being awesome. It didn't have much staying power for me, but it was fun and the scene is awesome so I enjoy it well enough.
5. Human Nature 7/10
I love Samcedes. These are true facts. This song suits them so well. It isn't some big grand number, it's soft and easy. I really liked how Mercedes pulled back in this song. She didn't go into full diva mode because the song didn't call for it. Her soft tone is really nice. I think Sam sounds the best he's ever sounded on this song too. They just mesh so well together. I have no complaints about the song (except that it didn't hit me the way the next four did, but it was still awesome).
4. Scream 8/10
I'll admit, when I heard the preview for this song, I was ready to write it off. Then I heard the full version today. Holy crap it is fabulous. Artie and Mike sound fantastic together and I can tell the dancing on this is going to be flawless. The beat of the song is really hard hitting which I love. I don't really have much more to say about it. It's really awesome.
3. Black or White 8.5/10
This is my favourite MJ song, so when I heard they were doing it I was worried they were going to screw it up. But this...this is flawlessness right here. Everyone sounds so good on it. They should do songs where Kurt growls more often because he sounds amazing when he does. Artie does an amazing job on the rapping part and Santana slays her part as well. Rachel was a bit out of place (I think they should have substituted Tina because she didn't get to sing this episode, but that's just me) but that's a small detail. This is just such a good cover. I wish Bad was like this, if I'm being honest. I'm sad it's not.

2. I Want You Back 9/10
I'd like to preface this by saying I swear I don't like Sebastian. I really, really hate him. Trust me. It's just...I have a thing for the Warblers. I could be having a terrible day but the minute I hear those sweet, sweet harmonies my worries just melt away. This song is no exception. It makes me smile like a loon. Most people hated this (which is why my liking it is an unpopular opinion) because they say there's too much going on. The thing about Michael songs is that there is often a lot going on and the Warblers are just trying to make sure they don't miss anything. I think they did a fine job and I thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

1. Smooth Criminal 1000000/10
Again, I hate Sebastian. But I love this song. When I heard the preview I thought it sounded like it was going to be amazing. It didn't disappoint. The chello part was amazing, Sebastian didn't sound half bad and Santana slayed like she has never slayed before. I have had this on repeat for a long time and it never stops being super amazing. It's going to be stuck in my head forever, I can tell. Also, the scene is awesome but I'm not going to talk about that here...
So, yes. This has been a post. Just a heads up I'm probably going to be doing a post over the weekend about Sebastian and where I think his character is headed because I've been noticing some things in the recent previews. Just...if anyone's interested in more of my ramblings...there will be more soon. :)
