Master Fanfic Post

Apr 25, 2018 22:39

A note, before we get things started: anyone is absolutely welcome to make podfic, art, vids, remixes, or other transformative works out of my fic. I do appreciate (advanced) notice, unless you're wanting to surprise me with it. However, please see my (Def)initon-verse fanfic policy here, as that one's a little different-- it's still a WiP, and I'd like to preserve some parts of it for the moment.

Series Title: Stones in the Road
Fandom: Glee/X-Men crossover (focuses on Glee characters; few Marvel-verse characters will appear.) In terms of Marvel-verse: this is probably closest to movie-verse, but I would hesitate to actually call it movie-verse.
Pairing: Primarily Kurt/Blaine; other canon pairings and one-sided Blaine/Warren as well.
Notes: I blame this series squarely on penguinutopia, without whom I probably never would have resumed watching Glee in the first place (I had quit watching in early season 1; she got me back in). All of the fic titles are from Mary Chapin Carpenter, whose music is way more country than any of these characters would willingly listen to. For those without a Marvel background, this is Warren, and this is Northstar. And yes, I have a (or, you know, several) sequels planned.

Spend Your Whole Life Wishing LJ | AO3
Pairing: Blaine/Warren (one-sided)
Rating: PG
Contains: Non-explicit discussion of mutilation, homophobia
Word Count: 3,500
Summary: Because Warren is friends with Blaine, everyone is friends with Blaine.

A Thousand Points of Light or Shame LJ | AO3
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Kurt/Blaine, other canon pairings
Spoilers: Through Original Songs
Contains: homophobia, violence, strong language-- on par with the show. Non-consensual exposure to vivid sexual fantasies.
Word Count: 19,000 total; link goes to first of three parts
Summary: It’s not like what Karofsky did was because Kurt’s a mutant, it’s just worse because of it and Kurt can’t really explain why, because the physical action doesn’t change.

Standing on the Borderline LJ | AO3
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine, minor Blaine/OFC and Blaine/OMC
Spoilers: Through Born This Way
Contains: homophobia, strong language, bullying, threats of violence, self-injury, mention of suicide
Word Count: 23,300 total; link goes to the first of three parts
Summary: Coming out-- well, if he wants to be honest with everyone-- being outed in the middle of his freshman year at Woodbine has been one of the worst experiences of his admittedly short life.

The Walls Seemed to Listen In (Five Conversations Blaine Doesn't Hear) LJ | AO3
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine
Spoilers: Through Original Songs
Contains: homophobia, mention of suicide
Word Count: 4,400
Summary: "Can we agree that if he is-- when he comes out, we’ll talk about it? Not in front of him, but the two of us?"

One Small Heart LJ | AO3
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine, one-sided Kurt/Karofsky
Spoilers: Through 3x13, Heart
Contains: brief mentions of homophobia, non-consensual exposure to vivid fantasies, mentioned self-injury, explicit-ish sex. Some material may be triggering; please send me a message if you would like more detailed warnings.
Word Count: 4146
Summary: Kurt doesn't think he can go through this again. Thankfully, he doesn't have to.

Carry That Weight
Summary: When Blaine's friend Susan drags him to an American Idol audition, he's not even trying to get past the first round-- much less into the top ten. And after getting through Disco Week, avoiding the media, and dealing with his very absent parents, Blaine's not sure he even wants to win-- although falling in love might make up for a lot of that. And maybe, just maybe, he can win this thing.

The master-post for this verse is here!

The sequel, Five States Kurt and Blaine Didn't Get Married in (and One They Did), can be found on Ao3 or on penguinutopia's LJ here

Pairing: Eventual Kurt/Blaine, past Quinn/Puck, past Blaine/OCs, platonic Kurt/Quinn
Spoilers: General for all aired episodes, but it is a radical AU
Warnings: Contains non-con, consent issues, explicit discussion of suicide, disordered eating, self-injury, slavery. Please check warnings, as they may change for each chapter. I am happy to provide more detailed warnings and answer any questions about the content of this fic.
Betas: idoltina, penguinutopia, and asieluniversity
Word Count: 99,178 at this point; this is a work in progress
Summary: Blaine A. is marked at age 15 by his parents as Defective when they find out that he's gay. When he's 26, his contract is purchased by Kurt Hummel, a twenty-something fashion designer who lives in New York with Quinn F., his first Def, and her daughter Beth Hummel. But Kurt may have gotten in over his head with Blaine, who is far more damaged by his years as a Def than Kurt expects-- he's certainly not the competent, professional personal assistant that Kurt thought he had hired. Can Blaine reclaim himself and gain a place in the world, or is he too broken to fix?

Side-stories:
Dalton Men; a short side-story about the Warblers.
Beth Hummel Reads Books; a rec-list of books that Beth reads or has read in-fic.
Blaine's file, which you can see a preview of here or download here. Blaine's file contains spoilers for chapters 8 and 9 of the main story.
(Def)er, by hiasobi_writes; “Fucking uppity New York bleeding heart liberal that thinks he can just-just wave his magic fucking money wand around and make all the problems in the system go away?” An outside look at the effect of Kurt Hummel's actions in trying to pass the Defective Manumission Bill. (Not written by me, but a really great and amazing fic written in this 'verse.)
(Def)iance: Emma's parents don't have to mark her for her to know that she's defective. (Emma Pillsbury's backstory in the Def 'verse. 5,335 words.)
(Def)Jams: This is written in ten-songs format: I put my iTunes on shuffle and took songs at relative random (nothing not in English, nothing instrumental, nothing that would give spoilers for later chapters of Def, and nothing from The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas), then wrote a bit based vaguely on that song. It ended up being more snapshots than a coherent narrative, but.
(Def)orm: Sebastian's been waiting for this, but that doesn't mean he's ready. (Sebastian back-story in the Def 'verse; contains spoilers for chapter 17 of the main fic. 3,402 words.)

Every Time You Move (I Let a Little More Show)
Authors: penguinutopia and hedgerose
Artist: Subaru444
Link to Art Post: here!
Rating: NC-17
Summary: He’s sexy! He’s cute! He’s popular to boot! It’s Blaine Anderson’s first and only year as Head Cheerleader of the McKinley High School Cheerios, and he is going to make sure that it’s an excellent one. (A Bring It On AU. We’re sorry.)
Word Count: 30,232
Pairings: Blaine/Sebastian, Blaine/Kurt, Brittany/Santana, Hunter/His Ego, Sebastian/Adam
Contains: References to homophobia and gay-bashing, consensual sex under the influence of alcohol (both parties). Finn is present, but is not a major part of the fic.
Betas: As always, we have huge amounts of love for Tina, who whips us into shape every time. Thanks also go to Lissa, especially for the cheerleading help.
Author’s Notes: The ages of several characters have been changed to fit the story, because what is canon even. Thanks to oneflamingo for the cheerleading help. Also, we swear that this isn’t a 90’s AU, much as Blaine might wish it were.

This was inspired by a conversation between the two of us that essentially went like this:
“Blaine’s sexy.”
“He’s cute!”
*dawning looks of horror/glee* “HE’S POPULAR, TO BOOT.”
And, well. FANFICTION.

On Ao3 | On LJ

Nine in the Afternoon LJ | AO3
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Kurt/Blaine
Spoilers: Through aired episodes, but nothing specific
Warnings: Some language, sexual content
Beta: idoltina, penguinutopia
Word Count: 2237
Summary: Growing up and growing together.
Author’s Note: I should be working on my Blaine Big Bang fic right now, but I did this instead. It might be the fluffiest thing I’ve ever written. Based off the Ten Songs Meme, but I cheated. A lot. There are links to YouTube versions of each song, if you want to listen along.

Super Trouper (Blaine's First Time) LJ | AO3
Authors: idoltina and hedgerose
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Up to 02x22 New York
Warnings: Casual homophobia
Word Count: 4,653
Beta(s): penguinutopia
Summary: Kurt surprises Blaine with a date to the roller rink. Shenanigans ensue.
Authors' Notes: I took Tina out roller skating for the first time in a decade tonight and, well, this happened. Also, we promise that someday, we will write a comedy without head injuries; we had to make up for the lack of angst somehow.

Catch of the Day LJ | AO3
Rating: PG/PG-13
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine
Word Count: 1670
Contains: Bad fish puns.
Summary: Love hits Blaine like a fish in the face-- wet, kind of smelly, and, when properly prepared, delicious.
Spoilers: None!
Bettas: penguinutopia and idoltina. I don't know whether or not I should be sorry.
Notes: This was all based off a horrible simile that would not leave me alone when I was writing long, angsty fic. Then this happened. Recipe shamelessly cribbed from The French Laundry Cookbook, because I am not that creative. Or that rich.

Salmon Chanted Evening LJ | AO3
Rating: PG/PG-13
Pairing: Kurt/Blaine
Contains: Bad fish puns. Again. I BLAME devonwood FOR THESE THIS TIME. PLUS THE PEOPLE ON TUMBLR WHO AIDED AND ABETTED.
Word Count: 1652
Summary: Blaine is an assistant fishmonger. Kurt is a chef. Together, they fight crime. (Sequel to Catch of the Day, which you probably need to read to understand this. Don't worry, it's short.)
Spoilers: I really hope not.
Bettas: idoltina, hiasobi_writes, and penguinutopia.

Drive the Winter
Artist: Kaffiaulait

Warnings (if any): Implied character death (not Kurt or Blaine)
Betas: idoltina and penguinutopia. Thanks so much for everything, guys.

Contents of Package
Fill request for: spinmybowtie
Prompt: Blaine sends Kurt a care package.
Rating: PG
Warnings/Spoilers: Through 4x02; does not include events from 4x03 or 4x04.
Word Count: 1,400
Summary: One (1) plush dog named Brutus; Burt’s Bees Lip Balm, pomegranate; striped grey scarf; box of twenty-four (24) crayons.
Notes: I tried to make this as angst-free as possible, I swear! I hope it’s what you were looking for. (Also, thank you so much to idoltina for her quick and excellent beta.)

Differential Equations LJ | AO3
Podfic: available here, read by podcath, knight_tracer, and Paraka.
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Derek/Stiles, past Derek/Kate Argent
Spoilers: Through 2x03. I am making some assumptions about various characters' powers/abilities/human-vs.-nonhuman states (some of which have now been Jossed hardcore).
Warnings: Can I warn for Kate Argent? Implied abuse of power, dubcon/noncon, age difference (15/21). Characters may perceive themselves or other characters differently from how they may be perceived from an objective viewpoint.
Betas: Katie, Hia, and Tina.
Word Count: 5248
Summary: Stiles has all the variables, but he doesn't even know that there needs to be an equation yet.

Check Engine AO3
Rating: PG
Pairing: genniest thing to ever gen
Spoilers: Vague spoilers through season two of Teen Wolf and season five of Supernatural
Contains: Anthropomorfic, crack
Beta: Holly
Word Count: 969
Summary: The Jeep meets the Impala just once.

An Earthly Knight LJ | AO3
Fandom: Criminal Minds/Tam Lin/Supernatural
Rating/Warning: PG, Gen (because Criminal Minds is the gennest show that ever genned.)
Wordcount: 3329
Beta: iambickilometer
Summary: He carries iron nails in his pockets.
Notes: AU for Criminal Minds and Supernatural. And the Roadhouse didn't get blown up at the end of Season 2 Supernatural, because I need to use it. This takes place after the end of Supernatural season 2, and after "Revelations" in Criminal Minds. Also, this is really the first fic I'd written since high school, so.

That I Am Able LJ | AO3
Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: PG-13
Contains: graphic violence, torture, quasi character death, casual ableist language; all are on par with canon.
Author's Note: Like many of my fics, this one started with its first line and grew from there. The Pelagian heresies are real; you can read about Pelagius here. There's some debate about where Pelagius was from, but I first knew him as an Irishman, so that's what I went with. A final note: my interactions with christianity have been from a place of scholarship, not of belief, so I apologize for any offense I may give.
Betas Betas all the Betas: Thanks so much to Murphy, Missgoalie75, Rainbowrites, and Tina for the beta! I may have gone slightly overboard on betas for this one.
Summary: "No will can take away that which is proved to be inseparably implanted in nature." (Castiel gen; follows 8x10 and contains spoilers.)

The Peace of Wild Things LJ | Ao3
Fandom: Hannibal
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: gen, with minor Will/Alana and Will/Hannibal undertones
Spoilers: Through the end of season 1
Contains: minor self-injury (for magic reasons) and implications of abuse of power, gaslighting, cannibalism, and violence.
Betas: idoltina and airgeer
Word Count: 3260
Summary: Will walks through the front door. The rest of the journey takes a little longer. (For the prompt: Post S1, Will leaves prison and hunts Hannibal down.)
Note: This was written for the Hannigram Secret Santa Exchange; I wrote for Perrito. I was super grateful for their patience, as this ended up being a few days late.
