Our cage VOL 2.

Feb 08, 2011 14:17

I already posted once about our cage, but since then, it's gone through a few modifications so that I figured I could re-post... I'm sorry for taking over the community, seems it's been a little quiet here lately... oh well:

I thought I could come and let you guys know how well it's worked for us in case you wanna try the same thing ;) When I first posted a picture of our cage, some where worried about hedgehogs not adapting to multiple levels. Well, I'm happy to tell you that Hugo's had no problems with the cage. Sometimes he sleeps behind his wheel, sometimes in his little wooden house and sometimes in the fenced area so it's clear he's adapted just fine to all of his levels.

The carpets have proved to be an excellent thing; they're not too slippery since Hugo only pees/poops into his litter-box or when running anyways and the top floor always has newsletters on it. The other floors have too, at the moment, 'cause he tends to drag his food around especially big grasshoppers so the newsletters are a great way to keep the carpets a lot cleaner. Also, been a cold winter so they're because of that, too.

What else... the railings are still there on the ramps, but I suspect we probably wouldn't even need them. The ramps aren't too steep, Hugo's had no problem running them up and down and he's actually pretty good when it comes to climbing. I think he might believe he's rat or something and we probably should do agility with him XD Haa, just kidding. Not about him thinking he's a rat, though, 'cause seriously the way he climbs up and down stuff, is hilarious. I try and keep him away from such stuff but I'm not always quick enough. For example, when we're sitting on the sofa with him and I glance away, there's a good chance he's during those two seconds climbed up to sit on the sofa's armrest. I think he does it out of spite 'cause he knows I don't like it :D

Anyway. That was that. For now...
