Here I am in rain again

Well it was nice the first day we got here (Vermont) and then it started raining. I am been told that it is going to rain the rest of the week, which really won't matter as I am going to be inside most of the time. Anyways, the camp so far is so cool. I have already seen some amazing percussionists. David Garibaldi was here today, for those of you who do not know he plays for Tower of Power (Sandie might be the only person that knows of them) and is basically a god of funk drumming. I went to one of his classes and watched him play. I also went to a class taught by Rick Van Horn (the senior editor of modern drummer), and Kenwood Dennard. Now, Kenwood has drummed for people like Sting, Miles Davis, well you get the idea. Where was I oh yes, todays topic was coordination during the class his demos usually consisted of playing a keyboard with each hand (one on each side) Bass line on one and Lead on the other, and then playing the rythum with his feet. Now I don't know how many of you guys has sat down at my drumset but just playing with three hands can be tricky. I have never seen anyone do anything like this. Already I am feeling so inspired that it is going to drive me nuts when I am in North Carolina with out a drumset.

More later, Layne
