I realize that in the grand scheme of things, this is a small problem. But I'm paying these people more than $150 a month for cable and internet, and I don't think asking that my channels come in and my email messages don't disappear is too much to ask.
Next up: calling American Airlines to see if they can get me a record of the work related plane fares that I need for my taxes and emailing all my students with a new gmail address since Charter can't tell me why the messages went away.
So the television tech just left my apartment.
I'm still missing the low def version of CBS entirely. And when he talked to the TiVo specialist, the TiVo guy said that it could take 5 to 6 hours for the channels to "come back" or that it might be an issue with local channels being out in our service area.
WTF!
While he was here, escalation desk guy called back and said basically that my email messages were gone and that if I'd called within 7 days they could have gotten them back, but now, not so much.
So I get to call back and tell him that I did call within 7 days but stonewalling on the part of several different agents means that now it's too late.
I sense a call to my landlord. Verizon may suck. Verizon FIOS may suck, but I'm ready for a new kind of suckage.
