I'm not sure if my Massachusetts source on this comes from a reliable example (it's a family member who is maybe not the best in detecting bias in sources), but she heard something that since Massachusetts will lose a seat in the House due to the population shift, there are rumors that the district they will do away with may be Barney Frank's.
If that's the case, I'm going to cry.
Fewer things have given me more pleasure than watching Frank get snarkier as he's gotten older and the culture has changed enough to allow him to get away with it.
See, for example,
this clip of him delivering a brilliant response to a right wing reporter who tried to ambush him on the issue of GLB (leaving the T out because it's important to remember that the repeal of DADT is not inclusive of trans folk) members of the military showering with straight folks.
I never lived in his district. But he did come and speak at my college, and I thought he was brilliant then. He's impressed me time and time again--esp. over the last few years. When he is no longer a member of the Congress, I will miss him at least as much as a I miss Pat Schroeder right now. If that happens because of a coup of some sort, that will be all the more infuriating.
