Summer's Here

So Emmett's team came in second in their tournament. They won their semi-final game against Concord Blue handily, and got their asses handed to them by Concord Red tonight. EM almost started a riot with some obnoxious Concord fans (such that the ump called the Concord coaches onto the field and told them their team was about to forfeit the championship if they didn't reel in their particular set of assholes). Concord Red got up 10-0 which invoked the slaughter rule. Albany chose to play on, and Emmett was the first to score, just beating out an infield hit deep in the hole, then stealing second and third and coming around on a clean single. He also made an excellent play at shortstop throwing a runner out at third while on his butt somewhere behind second base. He had to throw up and over the baserunner to make the play.

Emmett's first summer camp (for an entire blissful month) is at Acrosports which is literally on my block. Ahhhhhhhhhh. Non-commuting is bliss. He's loving it quite a lot and has made some friends. Hopefully one will stick so he'll have some local buddies when he's with me over the weekends. Also, we'll get to sleep in a bit tomorrow, have hot cinnamon buns for breakfast and watch plenty of cartoons before he starts tumbling.

Next Baseball Tournament is this weekend and actually starts on Thursday. Fortunately EM's new job doesn't start until next Monday, so she'll be driving him out to Pleasant Hill.
