Joe shifted and opened one eye when Jon slid out of bed, watching him as he crept around the room gathering his clothes.
"Leaving?"
Jon picked up his shirt and leaned over the bed to lightly kiss Joe. "Yeah. It's almost four, Richie'll wonder where I am."
Joe nodded and leaned up to kiss him again. "Alright. Have a good night."
"Yeah, you too."
Joe was asleep again before Jon had the door fully shut behind him.
The hall was long and silent, the doors mocking him. For a moment Jon's fingers itched to reach up and switch a few room numbers. Let someone else spend some time in this hallway, not sure where they belonged.
He turned the corner, and the hallway wasn't empty anymore. A tall man with fluffy brown hair, almost the same as Jon's, was just closing the door to a room - Jon's room.
Jon could tell the exact second Sav - shirt tossed carelessly over his shoulder, pants unbuttoned and chest still covered in sweat - recognized him by the way his shoulders tensed, the way he straightened up and added a little more power to his step. Jon straightened up, too, reminding himself that his boots added an inch or two and Sav was barefoot. This time Jon got to be the taller one.
And then they were face to face.
"You were with Richie."
"Yeah. Joe asleep?"
Jon nodded. Sav scowled.
"You could at least leave him awake for me to go back to," Sav hissed, and pushed past Jon to stride down the hallway.
Jon sighed and opened the door to his room.
Richie was snoring.
