The AC is fixed!
It would seem my home warranty has paid for itself again...2 years running. I figured it would be the 50 year old bedroom system that would go down, but no, it was the five year old Ruud. It was a freak thing. A wire was sitting against the condenser coil. The vibration caused the wire to lose its insulation bringing 220 into contact with copper freon lines. The subsequent arcing melted a hole in the copper which caused the entire system to discharge into the atmosphere (sorry ozone layer). The entire unit was electrified so when the repair guy first got there, he put his hand on it then knelt down putting his knee onto the wet ground and ZAP. He was ok, but you could tell it scared him.
